Chapter 5: Classes and the royal ball
At the rajmahal (morning)
Manyata gets ready for her classes. She goes down for breakfast. Meets jay on the way.
Jay : Jiji aap kitna old fashioned hai. Pata nahi uday aapko kaise bardash karega.
Manyata stares at her sister coz of her outright rudeness towards her. And before she even thinks of a reply another voice answers jay
Uday: Woh hamari problem hai jay. I love her the way she is. Waise bhi you must be knowing that I cant tolerate models for more than few hours.
Manyata: Uday, tu fir se subah subah aagaya.
Uday smirks at her.
Jay: Muje nahi pata tha uday ki tumhare taste behanji types hai. In case your earlier girlfriends wud some to know about this they will die of shock.
Uday: behanji nahi jay muje princess pasandh hai. Who cares about those girls who are not a part of my life. I cant live my life thinking about what would please others. Aur who jaise bhi hai hamare mangetar hai so I cant tolerate anyone insulting her even if it is you, her sister.
Manyata: Uday what are you saying? Kaun tumhara mangetar?
Uday realizes that he let slip coz of his anger but before he could think of covering up jay interrupts and messes it
Jay: Jiji why are you acting? Ab yeh math kehna ki aap dhono ki roka ke bare me aapko pata nahi.
Manyata: Uday please tell me the truth. Everyone seems to know more about my life than me. Better tell me at least now or else get lost from my sight.
Uday: Princess, calm down. I know we must tell you about this but we dint want to burden you with too many relationships. You were struggling to accept your family so me and Ds thought of saving it for later. But now that you have heard it no point trying to hide it further.
Manyata: Uday just cut the bloody crap and get to the point.
Jay: Manyata you are asking uday to cut the crap, sorry I mean bloody crap. Seriously uday I have never seen anyone speaking to you like this. She doesn't even respect you. No idea what you see in her.
Manyata realizes that she was very rude: Uday, am sorry I should have said that but please understand I am getting very impatient.
Uday: Manyata I know u dint mean that so no need for being sorry. So now you want to know the truth. The truth is that I am your fiance. Our roka was done before you were kidnapped when you were 3 yrs. And we will be getting married soon. We are destined to be with each other princess.
Manyata doesn't say anything. Uday sees her going to the class, decides to give her some time and space so leaves.
Next few days: Manyata is completely lost in her own thoughts during the classes and doesn't pay attention to the teachers. So the teachers go to Ds and complain that she is unfit to be a rajkumari as she lacks concentration. No one can teach her anything. Ds gets irritated at how they say she is unfit and tells them to be careful while speaking about Manyata. She is the future yuvrani of devgarh. Uday adds 'and the future maharani of jaigarh'. Manyata enters the study and stares at uday.
Ds: Manyata, yeh ham kya sun rahe hain. You weren't concentrating in any of the classes.
Uday tries to interrupt as he knows the reason for manyata's behavior: Ds woh,..
Ds: Beta ham manyata se baat kar rahe hai, manthe hain ki inpar aapka hak hai. But that doesn't mean you will take her side when elders are correcting her.
Uday: Sorry Ds aage se nahi karenge
Ds: Its okay uday beta. Manyata, abh aap bachi nahi hai, aage jaakar aapko devgarh ki yuvrani banni hai.
Manyata: Haan aur jaigarh ki maharani bhi. Aap hamesha se mujpar sare risthe thopte kyun hai.
Ds gets shocked: Manyata yeh kaise baat kar rahi hai aap. Hamne aap par rishtha thopa hai?? Enough of this Manyata. You don't concentrate in classes, your teachers come and tell me that you are unfit to become the yuvrani and when am trying to question you for that, you are answering me back. Learn to respect elders. I will be arranging for new teachers from tomorrow. Make sure you don't repeat the same. Today evening there is a party at the Uday nivas hotel. It is the royal ball we hold for all our clients so its an extremely important one. Get ready for that. Jay will help you with the dresses. Many other princes and princesses would be attending the party. So make sure you respect them and behave like a dignified princess. Now you may go.
Manyata having seen the tough side of Ds decides to go. She is almost in tears while going back which uday notices. He calls unnati and asks her to come to the palace so that she can be with manyata.
Unnati comes to the mahal:
Unnati: Manyata kaise ho?
She hugs her and manyata doesn't respond. She realizes this and takes manyata to her room.
Unnati: Kya hua? You are not happy to see me or what?
Manyata: Aise nahi hai unnati. Pichle kuch dhino se hamare zindhagi mein kya ho raha hai hame pata hee nahi chal raha hai.
Unnati: Tum dada aur tumare roka ke bare mein baat kar rahi ho na
Manyata: Pata nahi unnati. I was living in a small houselhold without any luxuries like I have now. And those days I used to wish I become a princess. I thought life would become so beautiful when I have all these things. But having become one I now understand that the life of a princess is also not easy. There are many responsibilities that come with wealth and power. But many of us just want the power and wealth without realizing the responsibilities that comes along.
Uday listens to the entire convo but doesn't interrupt knowing that unnati would handle it in the best manner and leaves the scene.
Unnati: Manyata think of the common people they would want to do so many things in life and might not be able to do it due to lack of resources. We have the money and power to do many things. We have the power to solve the problem of common people. Don't you want to work for your kingdom and make many people happy. Yes I agree we are indeed born to sacrifice for others. May be that's why we have been bestowed upon with innumerable luxuries. But doesn't mean we have to get upset with things. We also have our fair share of happiness in our lives. Yes it is not as great as it may look to the outside world but we can definitely get our dose of happiness by changing the way we look at things.
Manyata nods and hugs unnati.
Unnati: You think dada's life is great? No manyata. He has also lost many things in life. He lost our mother when he was 13. He misses mom a lot and doesn't show it to me. He takes so much care of me so that I don't miss mom. He used to flirt with a lot of girls and has had a lot of girlfriends but, do you know he has never loved anyone. Dad used to keep reminding him everyday that in the end of the day dada will have to marry only the yuvrani of devgarh so no point of falling in love. So even though dada loves it when girls are simple he used to maintain a safe distance from them and go around with all models and snobbish girls as he knows he wont fall for them. I was so happy to meet you the first day manyata because I knew you were perfect for dada. I am not telling you all this because you have to accept the relationship. In the end its your wish Manyata. But I would love to call you my bhabhi sa.
They chat for a while and unnati leaves.
Unnati: Dada, manyata kafi pareshan hai.. Hamne baat kee fir be she seems to be so low at the moment. She hardly responded to whatever I said. No idea how she will get ready for the part in this state.
Uday: Ham hai na choti I'll make sure manyata's mood becomes okay. Saying this goes to Manyata's room
Uday: Princess, I am sorry. I can understand why u weren't able to concentrate in the classes
Manyata: I hate you uday, I hate you. Saying this she starts crying again.
Uday: Manyata, I thought you were a strong girl and look you are also one of the cry babies. Uh women are so irritating.
Manyata(wipes her tears): Halkat veda, suvar kahin ka!! women are irritating? How dare you say this?
Uday: Now this is like my princess.
Manyata is speechless realizing uday said things on purpose to change her mood.
Uday: Seriously manyata you look terrible when you are crying. I love this annoyed expression of yours. So even if you are not smiling its fine but at least be annoyed. You look too cute when u have that annoyed look. Haan haan aise hee!
Manyata gets really pissed of hearing this: Uh what the hell do you think of yourself. You want me to be annoyed just bcoz u think its cute.
Uday: While I entered you were crying, then u were giving irritated looks; now u seem to be angry. How fast ur mood changes, princess.
Manyata: Tu bhi na uday, kabhi nahi sudharega. Muje pareshan karne ke liye shayad bhagwan ji ne tuje yahan beja hai.
Uday starts laughing now: Fine princess I'm leaving you in peace and going now but don't forget about the ball. I will come by evening to see if you are ready or whether u r waiting for my help to get ready. (he winks at her and leaves her room)
Manyata(shouts so that he can hear it): Muje koi help ki zaroorath nahi so pls der se aana.
Uday (thinks) I'm sure you'll need help princess. After all Ds ne jay ko aapko help karne ke liye kaha hai. Pata nahi woh aapko kya pehenne ko kahegi. (laughing to himself he goes to his jeep)
After some time jay enters Manyata's room with few dresses.
Jay: Jiji, Ds asked me to help you with choosing dresses for the royal ball. I think she knows if you are left according to ur wishes you will dress up like an aunty. Or may be she thinks uday would start looking for a better girl if you don't dress appropriately.
Manyata: Shut up jay! It would be great if you could just leave them and get out jay.
Jay: Ya sure, even I have to go and get ready. So see you at the party. But don't tell me I haven't warned you. All girls will be falling over your fiance and if you aren't looking good he might be forced to spend time with another girl.
Manyata (thinks) what have I done to get such a sister?
She then starts looking at the dresses jay has left on her bed and to her horror all the dresses are tiny and revealing. She becomes extremely irritated and goes to jay's room.
Manyata: Jay what the hell did you think when getting those dresses for me.
Jay: omg jiji why are you screaming on top of your lungs. Speak slowly I don't want my ear drums damaged.
Manyata: Oh please stop this drama and get me some proper dresses that I can wear for the party. Dunno why I'm in a situation that I have to ask you of all the people.
Jay: Whats wrong with you jiji those dresses are the best ones I have. I chose stuff for you before even myself. Am not trying to say that I am selfless or something. I have my own reasons behind that. In the end if the day you are my sister and I don't want people to laugh at you. It will be an insult for me also.
Manyata: Everytime I think you cant speak worse jay, you prove me wrong. How selfish can anyone get. I got that you don't like me form day one. But I really don't understand the need to use insulting words in every sentence while speaking to me. Anyway forget it get me some proper dresses now or am going to Ds.
Jay(sarcastically): Omg jiji am so scared. Yes I don't like you but that doesn't mean the dresses I chose for you are horrible. How do I make you understand? Oh god what have I done to have a gawar like her for my sister. She doesn't even know how to dress for a party. Okay wait I will show you pics from earlier parties and you will see how the others have dressed.
Saying this she opens her laptop and starts showing her pics. Manyata gets a bit uncomfortable realizing that whatever jay was saying was indeed right and even she might have to dress accordingly.
Jay decides to further irritate her and starts showing her albums of uday with his girlfriends.
Jay: Deko jiji how your fiance's girlfriends have dressed and tell me if you don't dress accordingly wont uday feel embarrassed to call you his fiance.
Manyata gets even more upset seeing those pics where girls were literally falling over uday. So she decides to wear one of the dresses jay has kept and goes out to her room.
Jay smirks looking at her leave. Poor jiji don't know how she is going to survive today's party.
Manyata after looking at all the dresses manages to find the longest among the ones jay had given which is the first pink one in the below link:

She wears it and her beautician applies make up, does her hair and helps her get ready.
Uday comes to the palace with a dress for Manyata (thinking) Pata nahi mere jungle bhilli kis haal mein hogi. I am so sure she wont wear the dress which jay might have given. Or even if she had worn it she would be pulling it trying to make it longer.
He enters Manyata's room and gets surprised at the sight in front of him. He forgets all his thoughts about giving the dress he had bought for her and starts scanning her. Manyata gets conscious seeing that he is checking her out. He gets lost in her beauty and they both share a beautiful eye lock.
Manyata: Uday, its time for the party, Chale?
Uday breaks out of his trance when manyata speaks and says: Princess, you look beautiful. Irada kya hai, saare guests ko maarne ka?
Manyata gets embarrassed but uday fails to notice it as he is completely lost in her beauty.
Uday: Ya lets go.
At uday nivas hotel,
Jagat: You look beautiful Di. No wonder uday looks lost.
Manyata: Thanks jagat.
Uday: Kuch bhi jagat.
Jagat: Don't mind him. He is just trying to cover up.
Uday gets an important call in between the convo: Excuse guys, I'll be back soon Manyata, you chat with jagat till then.
Manyata looks helplessly at uday who had left already.
Manyata: Jagat, this is my first official party. I am getting nervous.
Jagat: Don't worry Di. I'll be with you till uday comes. And ya its quiet normal to be nervous. But Di remember this is not some interview. So you can relax.
Manyata starts laughing
Jay enters the scene
Jay: hi jagat. (she hugs him)
Jagat: You look great jay.
Jay: Thanks jagat. Why not go for a dance?
Jagat: I was just speaking with your sister. She is new to such parties na so'
Jay(interrupts): so you are trying to say you don't want to dance with me now?
Before jagat could answer Manyata says: Its fine jagat you guys carry on. I'm fine
Jay and jagat leave to the dance floor.
Manyata hears someone calling her name. She gets releaved thinking it must be uday. But is surprised to see someone holding their hand expecting her to shake it.
Guy: Hi rajkumari Manyata, I am Shreyas, yuvraj of kushalgarh.
Manyata: Hi yuvraj Shreyas.
Shreyas: You can call me shreyas, darling.
Manyata: Uh? okay!
Manyata gets more and more uncomfortable by each passing minute. And to her annoyance shreyas never seemed to move away. Finally Manyata decides to excuse herself.
Manyata: Nice meeting you yuvraj shreyas. You carry on enjoy the party. I'll just be back in a moment.
Manyata goes to the juice counter and orders some juice and the waiter gets her cocktail by mistake. She drinks it, starts feeling high and realizes something is wrong.
But just then she notices uday dancing with some hot girl. Gets irritated and asks for more juice. After gulping down 3 glasses she kind of becomes unsteady.
Yuvraj shreyas notices this and tries to take an advantage of her state.
Yuvraj shreyas: Rajkumari Manyata, I would like to have a dance with you.
Manyata feels sick since she drank too much and it was her first time so she calls: Udayveer.
Yuvraj shreyas: Uday is dancing with my sister, rajkumari anvitha. But I can help you sweetheart.
Shreyas then pulls Manyata towards the dance floor
Uday notices this and gets shocked.
Uday: Yuvraj shreyas, thanks for helping Manyata, but you may leave now as I'm there to take care of her.
Shreyas: Aaah my dear yuvraj udayveer. How are you man? Looks like you were enjoying the dance with my sister rajkumari Anvitha. Why don't you continue?
Manyata glares at uday even in her half demented state.
Uday: Thanks for the suggestion Yuvraj but I do have my own priorities. So if you could excuse me.
Shreyas leaves after looking at the anger in uday's face.
Uday: Princess, what the hell? I leave you for few minutes and you have started drinking. Whats wrong with you?
Manyata: Isme kyaaa hai uuuddayy. I just drank some orange juice. I want more.
She tries to order for more juice while uday gives an angry look the waiter asking him to get out of his sight.
Uday: Manyata, enough of juice now. How many glasses did u drink.
Manyata: Just thrreee. (saying this she is almost about to fall, uday holds her)
Uday: Ufffo princess, what to do with you?
Manyata: Nothing, why are you bothered about me. Go and dance with those hot girls. Enjoy the party, anyway you wont like me.
Uday (mentally curses the drink which is making her so vulnerable): Princess, why wouldn't I like you. You may not be the most beautiful girl I have seen, but you are the most innocent one. Who wouldn't like you? Haan
Manyata smiles and makes a sad face within seconds: I hate it when u danced with that rajkumari. I came with you why did u leave me and go.
Uday takes her to the basin as she felt like vomiting. She starts puking and uday rubs her back.
Uday starts feeling guilty: Am really sorry princess. I left you few minutes and look at your state.
Manyata: What happened to me am complelety fine. Now lets dance.
Uday: Princess, have you gone mad?
Manyata: No should people be mad to dance with you?
Uday laughs: No I dint mean that. But princess, you are not well now and moreover I cant believe it, you are asking me for a dance.
Manyata: Why you will only dance with rajkumari Anvitha?
Uday: Princess, muje kuch jalne ki badboo aa rahi hai.
Manyata: So you wont dance with me. Okay fine I'll leave.
She turns to leave but uday pulls her from behind and she ends colliding with uday. Uday then hugs her from behind and wispers I her ear sending down chills in her body: So ready to dance, my lady love?
He takes her to the dance floor and dances with her slowly. They both dance for a long time. Manyata was completely on uday during the entire dance due to her drunk state. The guests were looking at the adorable couple and saying they were made for each other.
On the other hand Rajkumari Anvitha was burning with jealousy.
Soon the party ends and
In the car
Manyata: I hate you uday.
Uday(chucles at her innocence): Kyon princess, dance karna aapko acha nahi laga?
Manyata: Nahi maine tumhare photos dheki. You with all your girlfriends.
Uday gets guilty again: Princess, where did you see them.
Manyata: Jay ne dikhaya. Woh main choti choti dress pehanne se mana ar rahi thi tho. She showed me the pics of you with those girls in short dresses.
Uday understands why Manyata wore that dress now and becomes even more guilty.
Uday: Princess I agree am not as innocent as you are but believe me the moment I saw you and realized you are my lost princess I have stopped looking at other girls.
Manyata was still making a frowning face.
Uday: Manyata, now don't frown at me. Am saying the truth. And ya you needn't wear such dresses to impress me because I'm already impressed with you, the way you are. I like you for your innocence and attitude not your looks. Yes am lucky to have a beautiful girl like you as my fiance. But trust me looks are not the only thing I would look for in my girl. If that was the case I should be marrying Miss India.
Manyata: You are lying, I know you also like hot girls only.
Uday: Well in that case Manyata when I have a very hot girl as my own fiance why would I like others.
Manyata: Whom are you kidding? I know you don't like me. Even today you were dancing with that hot rajkumari.
Uday starts enjoying her possessiveness.
Uday: So my princess is getting possessive of me. Hmmm interesting.
Manyata makes a sad face again.
Uday: Meri cute si princess ab bahut ho gaya. Maine kaha na I wont look at any girl after this. So please smile.
Manyata: Promise?
Uday: Haan princess, promise
Manyata: toh phir teek hai. Saying this she smiles.
Uday kisses her cheek and then starts driving from the hotel.
Manyata sleeps on the way. After reaching the palace uday carried her to her room, lays her down on the bed and removes her sandles. Notices the red marks on her foot due to the sandles and kisses her foot. Puts the comforter over her and then kisses her forehead and leaves the place.
Uday (thinks) Udayveer you are going mad. What were you doing just now? When did you become so caring towards any other girl except unnati. Hmmm anyway she is not just another girl, she is you fiance. So its fine.
Uday reaches his palace and unnati comes running to him.
Unnati: Dada you are so late. So how was the ball? I am not interested in these kind of balls usually but this is your first time with Manyata.
Uday starts thinking about the events that happened during and after the party.
Unnati: Dada you are blushing. Omg omg I cant believe this. So finally a girl has made the great Yuvraj Udayveer Singh blush. I have to note down this date. It might make history.
Uday: Just stop it choti. I am not blushing. I just got reminded of the funny events in today's party and was controlling my laughter.
Unnati: Oh really dada? I know you cant lie to me. So I advice please don't try.
Uday: Choti tuh bhi na!
Unnati: So tell me dada? Did you dance with Manyata I mean bhabhi saa?
Uday: Haan choti I danced. Actually Manyata drank some cocktail by mistake thinking it was juice and she asked me for a dance. Will you believe it?
Unnati: Omg dada what are you sayng? Manyata was drunk?? And she asked you for a dance?
Unnati was jumping like a kid now.
Uday: Now unnati stop behaving like a 5 year old. Go and sleep, you have your last exam tomorrow. You can chat all day after the exams are over.
Unnati: Seriously dada I have never cursed the exams as I am doing now. I could not see you dancing with bhabhi saa bcoz of this. Anyway good night dada. I needn't wish you sweet dreams which I'm sure will be sweet.
She winks at uday and leaves.

Note: This is a long one but sorry guys I think I have messed up this chapter. Actually tried to add too many things in the same chapter and as a result has become clumsy. Pls adjust :D
