I had a mind block…..mind block against getting hooked on to tv serials! Yet, I got hooked to Sony TV serials since last year, and one of the programmes I love watching is 'Dekha Ek Khwaab'. And this is the first time, I am writing regarding any tv programme, and this is because I felt strongly about Dekha……
The plot with which the serial started was so impressive, and it seemed to address the dream of almost all the human beings! But I must say, the way the writer & director handled the story and the plot was so childish and professionally did not match with the grandeur of the sets, costumes and jewellery!
As far as the cast is concerned, Udayveer has the charm of a prince. He exhibits complete royalty and smartness befitting the role. And Jayanandini is the star! She walks and lives every moment completely in the character, and if anyone deserves a vamp award, it is her. Maharani Komal is also good. One really misses Aruna Irani's presence in the serial, and of course it is very sad her role ended abruptly like this.
Lesser said about 'Monya' character is better!!! Sorry, wrong choice. She may have looked pretty in the beginning; but really, the producers could have provided her with better make up artist and costume designer. When everyone looks good, poor girl looks pathetically bad. Especially she looked the worst (in makeup and costume) on her crowning day. Feel so sad for her! I am sure, if she was given the right direction and instruction, she could have won everyone's heart. Her tone and way of delivering dialogue became the irritation point in the show. How could one be so stupid as her character, and since she has a regal heritage, she should have been presented in a much better way.
Whenever Manyata remembers what Uday had done for her, I wish she remembers how he saved her from dying twice!
I hope as your serial comes to an end, Jayanandini is rewarded for all that she has done, including that of making Rajmata fall and going into coma!
And the Akaash character…..oh I really wished he had died. He was always a sore point right from the very beginning…..again a wrong cast.
I hope you will bring out the truth behind his Aryan avatar before you end the show.
Yes, surely I will miss Dekha Ek Khwab, mainly for Uday, Jayanandini, sets, costumes (Not Manyata's, please) and jewellery!
