I was actually filled with RAGE after watching this episode today not because it wasn't a good episode. I felt like it was an excellent episode. My problem was not with Moniya once again yelling at Uday after he stops her from getting hit by a car, not even with her getting into J's face and demanding she take her back to the guy that kidnapped her. My issue was that with all of the progress that we have seen in Manyata in the last month if she is just going to go completely backwards in one episode- running without any decorum through a mall after someone, raging at her sister, flinging accusations at Uday. What happened to the calm composed Manyata from last week? What happened to the girl who was finally behaving like a rajkumari, like a yuvraani? Did she disappear? After taking a few minutes and breathing and making myself a cup of tea I realized something- Moniya is just that Moniya- she hasn't changed- at least not entirely. Which means her transformation is not complete- her growth is not complete in fact I would actually go as far as to say we are right back at the beginning which may just be a good thing.
Let me explain- what I mean is that the story isn't over, while M has made some strides in the last month or so she absolutely has not let go of her past, If she had let go of her past she wouldn't have been running out to the door to drag JN to introduce her to Aryan/akash- in fact she would have thought about the situation before acting. Which is exactly what UV told her to do and again she ignored it.
Despite my anger at Moniya's behavior (and I call her that because that is exactly who she was today) I was pleased because it means we might actually get to see REAL character growth from M and not just this self sacrificing that appears to have just been a facade.
