"Rajkumari Manyata, what a pleasant surprise" he said as he welcomed her. Manyata entered the room and gave a dry smile.

"Manyata is everything okay?" he asked as he made her sit on the plush sofa. Manyata swallowed trying to find a best possible way to put forth what was in her mind. It wasnt helping that Jai's face kept popping in her mind every now and then.

"Manyata" he prodded

"I…I have come here for…" she started holding on tightly to the clutch in her hand. "I….I…want to talk about Jai and you" she finished

He stood up with a start and faced her thrusting his hands into his trouser pocket.

"I don't have anything to speak about her. And there is no Jai and I" he said firmly

"There must have been some misunderstanding. She loves you very much and she is suffering. Okay even if we leave all that aside, our families have been friends since forever. This would not only endanger our families but also Jai's reputation. Please reconsider your decision" she pleaded

"Spoken like a true rajwade, but, I think he was quite clear in what he said" spoke a voice which made Manyata's hair rise. She closed her eyes to quell the unknown feeling which threatened to drown her every time she heard his voice.

"It is such a shame that the Devgadh princesses have stooped so low" he mocked "Especially the Yuvrani"

Manyata's eyes flew open and the princess in her roared with anger. She turned sharply to face the new comer.

"Yuvraj Udaibeer Singh, I should have known that you would be behind this. You are incapable of feelings anyway, at least let the ones who can, live in peace"

"Tsk tsk, you don't know princess what feelings you and your family evoke in me" he said, his eyes burning like coal, "pure disgust" he finished.

"As long as I live I will not let your sister marry my best friend"

Manyata smiled, shook her head and said "As long as I live, I will make sure that your best friend Akash, marries my sister Jai Nandini and that" she said pointing her index finger at him " is the promise of the Yuvrani of Devgadh" she completed and walked out of the room with her head held high.
