"Ashish Pampers Me A Lot. He Is My Prince Charming"
PRIYAL 'MAANAYATA' GOR GETS LUCKY IN LOVE!
There's always a certain delight in living a life that is completely unplanned. Just like it is for the 17-year-old Priyal Gor. When she stepped into the world of television, she had no clue that she would end up enjoying it so much. She also didn't think that she'd actually get to be a part of a fairytale and play the role of a princess. But then rajkumari Maanayata on Dekha Ek Khwab happened. What's more, the pretty Priyal has even found love on her current show in co-actor Ashish Kapoor. An epitome of frankness, this little miss sunshine describes herself as upfront, cute and extremely emotional. In a freewheeling chat with Showtime, she talks all about her new romance with beau Ashish, being tagged as a 'tantrum queen' and much more.
Just like every teenager, Priyal Gor was also rather clueless about her future. And it was her mother's dream to see her daughter on television that drew this young girl towards the small screen. She smiles, "I am enjoying every bit of it. Though acting happened to me by chance, I think I was meant for it. It was my mother's dream to see me on TV and my pictures on hoardings. So right now, I am fulfilling her dreams. But must say that I am loving it to the core."
After bagging her first show, Ram Milaye Jodi as one of the leads, life has pretty much changed for Priyal. While it took her some time to get used to the fast-paced and erratic work schedules of a TV actor, many mistook her initial discomfort as 'tantrums'. The actress was even replaced by Sara Khan because of that. "I never threw tantrums. But it was my first show and I wasn't used to this lifestyle at all. It was very new to me and at times, after hours of shooting, I used to feel very drained. So there have been times when I have cried and left the sets. But that was because I was too young and everything was very new for me. Maybe others took it as tantrums," she clarifies. "Now toh everyone has titled me as tantrum queen. No matter what show I do and how hard I work, people still keep labelling me as the same," complains the youngster.
But recently again there were talks about her acting pricey with the crew members of her present show, Dekha Ek Khwab. "As I told you, people have already made their opinion about me. And I have no idea if I will be able to change it. Now it's like even if I call someone kutta, they will say that I called him ch***ya," she fumes. "But it's okay. I've heard all sorts of rubbish about me. So it doesn't affect me anymore. I am used to it," says the girl maturely and then goes on, "My producer, Shrishti Arya also said that if I would have thrown so many tantrums on the show, then it wouldn't have been possible for them to pull off a daily show. We've never had to re-telecast any of our episodes till date and that's because I am very co-operative. If I had to act pricey and all then I wouldn't have done so many day and night shoots back-to-back. But it's okay, I guess God has given a mouth to everyone so they can talk. I can't really do anything about it. Thik hai bhai, jitna bhaukna hai bhauk lo. But I don't understand one thing, if my production house has got no issues with me, why the hell do others have to do so much panchayati?"
Soon after being replaced on her first show by Sara, Priyal was successful at getting one of the pivotal roles on the show, Ammaji Ki Gali. But unfortunately that show went off air rather soon. "I don't know what went wrong but the show wasn't doing well at all. So the channel decided to call it off. But till date, it was the best team I have worked with. Given a chance, I would love to work with them all over again. Rakshanda Khan is like my elder sister. She is my jaan, my sweetheart," she chirps. "In fact, I was just talking to her on the phone a few minutes back. All of us on the show had become like best friends and we are all still in touch. The best part about working with them was that there was no backbiting or politics. Everyone wished only well for others and there was so much of love between us."
Coming to something more personal, there were rumours about Priyal dating actor Mohit Malhotra. However, recently there has been much talk about her relationship with her Dekha Ek Khwab co-star Ashish Kapoor. So which of these is true? "Mohit and I were just friends. We don't even talk that much ya. But yes, I am dating Ashish Kapoor," she smiles.
Ask her about their love story and she blushes, "I met him when we started shooting for Dekha Ek Khwab. He also plays one of the leads, but our love story only started very recently when we went for a holiday together this New Year's Eve. We don't get to talk much on the sets because of the shoots. But when we went on this trip, we got to know each other really well. And we just had each other for company for two whole days, so love blossomed between us. And yeah, we started dating."
She continues in the same breath, "I am just playing a princess on the show. But Ashish treats me like a princess in real life too. I am like a baby and I love to be pampered and he pampers me a lot. I just love that about him. Ashish really is my Prince Charming."
Now that she has a perfect life (read fame, money and true love) at such a young age, what's next on her agenda? "I haven't really given much thought to it. I don't have any Bollywood dreams and I am quite happy with television. But I am an ardent follower of fashion. So given a chance, I would love to become a fashion designer some day. But at the moment, I am very much content with what I am doing," she ends with a smile.
Well, as long as you love what you do and do what you love, the sky's the limit. Right, Priyal?
