If people stopped and stared at him, they couldn't be blamed.
He was one of the God's finest creatures. It was like God made him at His leisure time. It was like he screamed perfection. His every feature, from head to the toe, you couldn't find one flaw in him.
From his jet black, shiny hair to his white feet. Starting from his sharp eyes where the darkest of the orbs lit on the milkiest of whites. Down to his sharp nose to his perfectly shaped, irresistible lips. The well-defined jawline, all the way down to his long, high, royal neck. His broad shoulders which could take on any weight. His long, perfectly balanced arms which made way to his hands. Hands which made anyone go crazy; if they touched anything, it was a treasure and if they didn't, the desire to be touched by them was enough to take the breathe way. His well toned and lean body, always hidden behind the veil of a cloth. Heavens knew what would happen when that veil was lifted. One thing was sure, the veil held secrets and it was for the betterment for everyone that those secrets remained secrets. There is so much of a insanity that a person can take. And when he walked on his long legs on this earth, he looked like a King. Because he felt like one. Meant to rule, meant to conquer, meant to be ahead of everyone.
If it was his appearance that made everyone desire him, what he really was astonished everyone. It was like he had many layers to him, different for each. Respect him, he's a kind leader. Go against him, you're dead. Love him, you waste your time. Hate him, you waste your life. Spend time with him, a time well spent. Ignore him...well, you can't do that. That'd be a waste of time.
And when this arrogantly sexy combination of a human set his eyes upon anyone, he got it. Why? He was born to get it. Some call it being over-confident and arrogant, he simply called it his right. Right because he had the mind, attitude, confidence, means and moves to get it. Why shouldn't he be so full of himself? He deserved every bit of it.
To a guy like him, victory was the first thing on mind. And the last. What came in between didn't matter at all. Minor details you see. But that came as a part of being a Royal. The blood which flowed through was hot and always boiling. His ego, his pride, his sense of superiority fed the blood to rush with its mighty flow. And he always made sure to let the blood flow in that way.
So, when she came to him and pinched at his ego; he was surprised. Not because she had succeeded, but because she had tried. He had played countless games in his life, moral and immoral. And he played these kind of games as well, the ones where the weapons are words and being strong and the prize is shattering the other person's will. But he had never played it with someone who had this much flame in them.
When he had touched her, something had happened. It was like the fire in him and purred and smirked because it had finally met his match. He was sure she didn't feel it but he had felt the sensation so well. Because unconsciously he had been looking for its match. And now he had found it.
She was a pretty little girl, that made things more interesting.
Word for word, move for move, attack for attack; she never backed down. The more they went deeper into the game, the more he enjoyed. At first he only toyed with her just to know what will she do next? But then it became what will she make him do? Head to head, no one actually had a visible lead in the game. The game went on and they kept playing.
It was like whenever they were together, he could see the world around them get swallowed by flames. Maybe it was the fire of her eyes or the heat of his blood that made him think that way, he wasn't sure. But it didn't matter. Both were the same like two sides of one coin.
There were times she caught him by surprise and there were times he made her go speechless. But the recovery from both the sides was always quick. The difference was that he countered her surprising actions by being dangerously close to her and she countered by pushing him further away.
And there were times when he simply lost patience. His usual calm and calculative demeanor cracked at her constant rejection. And then, despite the leashes he put on himself, he couldn't help but be a little physical with her. Though the initial point of it would be to catch her by surprise so he over-powered her. But when his over-powering him momentarily rendered her speechless, he became strangely aware of her feminine grace.
His finger traced the features of her face purely to explore the physical skin of that fire. Her soft, pale skin felt like tempting velvet to his skin. And his fingers would go keep on tracing it. His hold on her became stronger, pulling her closer to him. His eyes were always set on her, looking at her with the intention of ripping apart that skin of her. Being close like that the heat of the fire became dangerously irresistible for him. He had heard that fire beat fire. But when he was with her like that, her fire fed the fire in him.
During the trance of that completely wrong moment when his eyes would move to her rosy lips, he wondered how it would be to kiss those lips. And in the moment, he would lean in closer, hovering his lips over her. So close, he could literally see the shocked fire in her eyes. Her struggles to free herself from his grip would only urge him to stop the little hesitation.
Just touching her was not enough, he always seemed to want more. It was funny that it only happened in one moment. In one moment, his thoughts wandered from the game to something else entirely. Oh, it wasn't connected to the matter of the heart at all. It had something to do with his inner flame which always seemed to rise higher and higher the closer he got to him. The fire in him pushed him to devour the fire in her.
And like that while holding her, while gently and dangerously touching her, while looking in her eyes, just a split second before she pushed him away, he always saw the fire in her match the frequency of the fire in him. And he knew, he just knew, that deep down she wanted what he desired. Or her fire did.
But then she pushed him away, disgusted words cursing him for his out-of-blue antics. At that time, while she spoke away, he remained silent trying to calm the fire in him. It always had him wanting for more. He never paid attention to what she said because her words were equivalent to his silence; he eased the fire by zipping his mouth shut and she eased hers by speaking.
He noticed the way her chest heaved because of heavy breathing, the way she tossed her hair backward, the way she refused to meet his eyes immediately after their physical contact broke. But he didn't do anything, his concentration was on the fire within him. After she was done, she would look at him with one last disgusted look before storming away.
At the moment, the fire in him would be refueled. Not in the way that would destroy everything that came in its way, but in a calm way. Like it would wait. It was like the fires within them had this unspoken contract that they'd wait and remain thirsty.
They both were a pair, like the ones in Noah's Ark. Nothing else could satisfy them. They were longing for each other, had been longing for an eternally long time. This game of theirs brought them closer but not close enough to quench their longing. They weren't rushing things at all, they were going slowly at time and Heavens knew how hard that was for them. One wrong step could destroy everything like a house made of cards. And that was one risk they weren't ready to take.
There was fire on both sides and they stood on a thin line between the increasingly rising flames. It was only a matter of time to see who fell first.
