DS-UV: The mother that he never had.
He was tense. He was hurt. He was devastated. He was broken. She saw his face sunk. She saw the vintage grin , the smirking smile drowning into the bay of rejection. She saw his fingers fiddle with a cellphone. She saw his eyes look into some faraway space. She saw the weight of the battle beginning to get him. And then, she waved her magic wand and returned UV to Udaybeer. The glint came back in his eyes. The arrogant spine stood straight again. The grin of the Rajput in him came running back to his jawline….
DS, is the mother that UV never had. And UV is the son that Brijraj could never become for DS. UV is the heir , the baby that Maanyata and Jaynandini are yet to become. Its some unexplained relationship, a connection that exists between DS and UV. She is his cosmic mother , his guide, his hope , his mentor who is taking his hand and preparing him to be the future king of Jaigarh and teaching him the talents of the unbreakable and the invincible. He is her future – the heir she will pass on the baton to. UV-DS click together like none else ( they often remind me of the Chanakya-Chandragupta Maurya equation ) – they both have something that they don't have even with their own kids and parents. It almost looks like they are mother-son from some other lifetime.
In the last scene, UV came to sit with DS because he didn't know where else to go. Maanyata had just lovingly given him a heartbreak and even though he had taken it like a man ( a welcome break from his snarling angry reactions to rejection ) – he was HURT. He couldn't tell this to Maanyata , his father wouldn't give two hoots , Unnati is a lost connection , and nobody else would understand what hit him. Consciously or unconsciously, UV's feet and his bruised heart , his challenged ego took him to his DS. The way he quietly comes and sits in the study with her , answers her questions like a lamb – the zing and the signature charm missing – a look of emotional exhaustion on his face – UV wanted reassurance and comfort . Somewhere, he waned someone to tell him that he is not fighting a lost battle for Maanyata's heart. And its so heartwarming how DS , who was preoccupied by Maanyata and Brijraj , read UV's discomfiture , his vulnerable sensitive side and could tell what UV was going through simply by his tired face and his body language.
The moment DS reflected what UV was feeling and gave him her blanket, UV smoothed back to Vintage UV within seconds. He just needed a rekindling of hope and DS gave it to him. Aren't they cosmic mother and son, then?
I just love DS-UV and the dense equation that they have. DS is her original self with UV - no curtains , no secrets , no games. UV is his true self with DS – genuine respect , genuine affection and a relationship that gets to his heart. Now, you know why he was so devastated when DS played a game for a few episodes with him? Not only his ego , the Uday inside him had felt rejected by his own parent.
UV is an iron man and there are no doubts about it. But even mountains have their fissures. He loves Maanyata , so when she rejects him now, it no longer gets to his ego, it gets to his heart. He looked so vulnerable , hurt and wounded when Maanyata innocently rejected his love – he needed someone at that time and that someone was, is and will always be DS. Touchwood.
As for the rest of the episode , Aakash needs to look more like a serious lover and less like a despo who needs his next cocaine shot. Jaynandini needs to do more than being a classy biatch. Brijraj was supercool and so was Vijay with his one liners. Komal is an emotional mom but she needs to get into the 'Maharani' mode . She needs to look beyond DS-UV's plans and see what they are trying to achieve in the long run.
ManVeer were peaceful and am glad that they are friends officially. Maanyata's dependence on UV will have a lot to do with the evolution of their love story. She is fond of him, she likes him and most importantly , she depends on him.
Brijraj and Komal are royals but they don't have the makings of a rulers at all. Too many chinks in the armours of both.
GOD bless everyone. 🤗
