His Princess

"Udayveer , give me back my phone", yelled Manyata...Uday grinned and held the phone up, "come and get it princess",Manyata became red with rage and began to jump up trying to reach at the phone...Uday held it even more higher,Manyata cried out in rage "Uday ..."

Manyata woke up with a start...she opened her eyes and looked around her, her phone was lying lifelessly beside her, Uday was not there and she is still lying on her bed..."it was just a dream " sighed Manyata...It has been 2 months since Uday is gone, no knows where he is, everyone tried so hard to find him but there was no sign of him anywhere...its as if he disappeared into thin air, Manyata knows that he left because of her...it was all her fault...she stll remembers the day when she had last seen Udayveer.

It was Valentine's Day and Manyata was still locked in her Rajmahal, she was not allowed to go out even for a walk in the garden...her family did not trust her anymore, not after the fateful day when Akash was found in her bedroom and they mercilessly threw him out of the house ...Manyata had cried for days for Akash, but then when she realised her tears will not bring him back in front of her, she instead thought of making a plan how to get some news, any news of Akash, and that will be possible only if she can get out of the house, as her phone had also been confiscated by her family...The only news she had of Akash was that he was out of jail, she had overheard Udayveer saying to Brijraj. The news made her sigh with relief...for Akash's safety Manyata did not even take his name in front of her family...and she was trying hard to win back the trust of her family again...but today is 14th February, and she had been waiting for this day for so many days...she was planning to spend the whole day with Akash...but now she is not even allowed to look out of the window let alone finding a way to spend the day with Akash, she must meet him today, even for a few minutes will also be fine...Just when she was thinking about a way to get out of the house Uday came into her room...Uday has been acting very strangely ever since the day Akash was found from her room, he was not teasing her, did not smile at her, but each day comes to the Rajmahal, and checks on her , as if to make sure if Manyata was still there or not...Manyata almost missed the old Uday, the one who used to make her go mad with rage...As Manyata saw Uday entering her room, suddenly a thought struck to her mind, its only Uday who can help her go out of the Mahal,if she can only coax him, and after they gets out of the mahal, she will make some excuse and go and see Akash, the only problem now is how to tell Akash when and where she will meet him.But first she must make Uday to take her outside the Mahal...Uday came and sat on her bed and stared at Manyata, but he did not speak one word to her...Manyata decided to break the silence, "Uday? why dont you tease me any more?", Uday kept quiet and looked out the window silently, Manyata slowly kept her hand on his , as Uday felt her hand on his, he shook off her hand and looked at her angrily, "Dont touch me Manyata, you dont even have any right to talk me anymore after what you have done with me"..."I know Uday,you are still very angry with me and rightly so, and i am very sorry for whatever i have done"...manyata spke softly..."But Uday , if you are so annoyed with me then why do you come everyday to meet me?"..."I come here because i have promised Dadisab that i will take care of you no matter what and i mean to keep that promise, as i am not like some people who only cares to break promises" ..."I am really sorry Uday for what i have done, and to make up that i want to do something for you, you know what lets go out somewhere and spend the entire day together"..."Why Manyata? so that you can make some excuse to go back to Akash?"..."Uday!! how can i go to Akash when i dont even know how is he? where is he? i dont even have my phone with me anymore...so i cannot even contact him"...Uday looked at her, thought for sometime and replied .."you know what you are right, we need to go out, may be then at least Dadisab will be happy, also we should try to mend the relationships that got spoiled in the last few days"...Manyata smiled at him...After a few minutes Manyata joined Uday in his car.

Uday drove silently and stopped infront of a grand hotel..."we will have dinner here, isn't the place gorgeous? its new in town...but already people are thronging here, i know the owner of this place, one of the richest businessman of India"..."Yeah Uday its a very nice place" Manyata said smiling...They went and sat in the corner table..."So Manyata lets order something",Uday said... Manyata smiled and nodded, as Uday placed the order Manyata got busy thinking how to contact Akash…..her moment came very soon as the waiter brought the drinks for them….just as the waiter was serving the drink to Uday, Manyata jerked the hand of the waiter and the drink fell on Uday's shirt….Uday stood up angrily and yelled at the waiter "Cant you be careful?" the waiter said "sorry" looking thoroughly embarrassed ….Manyata pacified Uday by saying, "don't be so angry Uday ,it will spoil the evening, you just go to the washroom and clear yourself up"….Uday nodded at Manyata and went….in this confusion Uday had left his mobile, just as Manyata thought he would do….she quickly took up the phone and called Akash….after ringing for sometime and after Manyata has already gone through a few heart attacks as she was continuously thinking that Uday will come any moment, she almost sighed with relief when she heard Akash's voice from the other side……very quickly she said "Akash I don't have time to answer any of your questions, just do what I say"…she quickly gave him the hotel's name and address and asked him to meet her there within 15 mins…after that she cut the call hurriedly and deleted the number from the call register…..Just as she kept the phone, she saw Uday has come back….Uday sat in front of her and suddenly said, "you know Manyata, I had completely forgotten , today is Valentine's Day, each year I used go out partying with one of my girlfriends on this day , I used to be with those who would anything to get my attention , but today here I am with a girl who is least bothered to get my attention"...Manyata said sweetly " No Uday, I might not be one of your girlfriends , but believe me I want to be your friend, and I really want you to be happy"…..as Manyata kept Uday busy in these little chit chats, suddenly she noticed, Akash has arrived and was going towards the washrooms….Manyata then told Uday, "I really need to go to the washroom, I am just coming", Uday looked at her suspiciously ….."Oy why are you looking at me like that, I am really going to the washroom, if you wan u can come and stand at door"….Uday said " no its ok, you go"…..Manyata quickly went near the washrooms, and then quietly entered the lounge that was just beside the washrooms, Akash was waiting for her there…..seeing him after so many days brought tears to her eyes…."Happy Valentine's Day Akash", she said and ran to hug him….Akash also said the same and hugged her…..Akash then told how he tried to contact her but in vain, and Manyata also told him how she came here to meet him…..while talking to him she completely forgot that she had been there for quiet a long time and Uday must have become suspicious…..just as she was about to go out of the lounge, Uday came and stood infront of them, the look that Uday gave Manyata, was something Manyata can never forget, it was as if she had stabbed him, it ranged from anger to pain to betrayal….this time Uday did nothing, said nothing, just walked out of the hotel not even bothering to look back at Manyata.

That day when Manyata came back to the Mahal, she found her phone lying on her bed along with a note which had very simple message,

"Dear Princess,

Good Bye"

That was the last she had seen of Uday….now 2 months later, when she should rejoice that Uday is not there to prevent her from meeting Akash, when she should be happy that she is free of his dominance, she was surprised that she was sad….since the day he left….she has been dreaming not of Akash, but of Uday….she was thinking not of Akash, but of Uday….sometimes it surprised her, shocked her even, at what she is doing….she did not feel like talking to Akash anymore….sometimes she called up Unnati and talked to her…and somehow or the other all her conversations ended with Uday…..Akash also noticed this change in Manyata….he was concerned for her, he knew Manyata was depressed about something….he decided to confront her….the next time he met her after coaxing her for a long time, Akash said "what is bothering you monya? Is it something I have done?" "No" said Manyata, "Then what" Akash asked her….after coaxing her for a long time Manyata finally began to cry and say " I really don't know Akash, I am going mad I think, I see uday every where, I miss his teasing, I miss his voice, I miss everything about him, Why? Akash, I don't love him, I don't even care for him, but why do I miss him Akash?"…..Akash kept quite for some time and said "I think you have fallen in love with him Monya, you have become his princess…that's why you miss him….don't deny it anymore…..go home and think about it"….Akash turned and went away….Monya went to her room and began to think whatever Akash had said…..she closed her eyes and saw the face of Uday, the look that he had given her before leaving her, tears began to trickle down her face as she realized that she has fallen in love with Uday, the tears began to fall even harder when she realized that she can never say how much she loves Uday, as she does not even know where Uday has gone…..she picked up her phone and called Unnati….as she heard Unnati's voice from the other side, she almost choked on her tears as she said "hello"….before Unnati could even reply anything back, Manyata said " I love Uday, please tell me where he is….please Unnati,I need to tell him"…..Unnati said " I really don't know Monya, wish I knew where he is….but I am sure he will come back when he will realize you need him"….Manyata cut the phone and fell down on her bed face down crying, she doesn't know for how long she had been crying and when she had fallen asleep exhausted…..but she felt a warm touch on her forehead and as she opened her eyes, she saw the face that she had been looking for everywhere for so many days, Uday….he was smiling down at her, she reached up her hand and touched his face….it felt real……she sat up hurriedly and when she saw Uday was still sitting by her side, she realized she was not dreaming…..he was there for real…..She could not stop herself….she hugged him hard….and whispered "I love you" in his ears….."I love you too" Uday said…."Why did you leave me Uday?"…."I did not, you left me that day in the hotel….i realized that I can never win you by force…and I realized that you still loved Akash….and I was hurt, betrayed…I felt a pain I had never felt before….i realized that day that I truly loved you…..thats why i left you….i needed to be alone to deal with the pain, with your rejection….only Unnati knew where I was, I had made her promise not to tell anyone….but when you called her and broke down over the phone….she called me and told me everything….i knew you would need me so I came over" Uday smiled …."You will never leave me again promise?"Manyata said…."I promise My Princess" Uday said and kissed her forehead.
