ManVeer : This is why you root for them.
Before I start off on ManVeer's rollercoaster bitter sweet ride today, there are two things that you have to know about ManVeer after today's episode.
When UV is bad to Maanyata , he is very very bad
When UV is good to Maanyata , he is an absolute sweetheart to her.
When Maanyata is angry with UV, she is very very angry,
When Maanyata is happy with UV, she is all happy innocence.
Now, coming to the note on ManVeer :
Oh Boy! Aaj Maanyata ne sacch mein Jaanwar ki lagaa ke rakh di. UV's Maanyata is just his softer mirror image. If UV is grey, Maanyata is not white either. To save her own neck and keep her family's trust intact , Maanyata built a fantastic tale of being left alone by Jaanwar in the mall. Everyone bought the lie , except UV. He was smiling and grinning when Maanyata was lying right-left-center. He knew the truth but he preferred to handle it and handle Maanyata on his own. Jaanwar as jhaadofied by DS , and Maanyata was jhaadofied , threatened, pricked , counseled by UV behind closed doors.
But was UV really impressed with Maanyata's Machiavellian side? Her political tactics? I think not. When he enters Maanyata's room, closing the door behind him , he starts off with sauntering towards her shopping bags , talking teasingly as he goes through her clothes. But all that teasing and rounding up turns into bitter sarcasm as he gives Maanyata a standing ovation by clapping his hands and rubbing it in her face that she has learned political skills very fast. Fast enough to trap Jaanwar? Maanyata gets alarmed , tries to ward him off but she gets intimidated as she reads the rising accusing control in his voice . Like always. She can deal with a cute teasing flirting UV but when he becomes the no nonsense man in control, she runs off like a terrified lamb. But hey, she tried to put up a good fight by arguing with UV, counter questioning him , fighting with him but it was no use. UV was livid because he knew she has been hopping around Mumbai with that sleeping pill. But must say, he kept himself in check. His 'manhandling' was limited to grabbing her arms, and patting her cheek lovingly. But whatever he told her was actual manhandling. You can hear all the warning notes that he delivered her when you see the scene but what registers with you is - " I am being good to you. You have seen my good side. Do not force me to show you my evil side." And no, there was nothing menacing about it. He was just furious and maybe a tad hurt ' it seemed like he was trying to tell her that I like being nice to you and with you. Don't do things that will force me to zip up my good side and be with you what I am with everyone else.
But Maanyata is Maanyata. She , like always, could not handle the fact that UV was taking out her total band, baaja, baraat , so she ran off. Leaving UV very very angry . You commit mistakes, you lie , you cheat and then, you throw attitude? WOW. UV didn't seem in any mood to let Maanyata off the hook that easily . When he says ' Bad move Princess , Bad , Bad move. "
And what does Maanyata get in return for the fight that she gave UV? A lovely bouquet of pink flowers. UV shows up the breakfast table with his signature smile and flowers which means he is upto something. First he impresses everyone with his usual display of manners and respect and then, plays with Maanyata's mind so well that she gives in to UV's date demand. You just have to see the eye-game going on between the two here which simply says ' Baby, two can play this game. Whatever happened in the dining hall between ManVeer was strictly between them. Everyone else was an outsider. The date was set over pink flowers and ManVeer's killer look exchange. UV was taking Maanyata for a drive and that was that. No force , no anger , no manhandling , no humiliation ' just a smart mind game.
The scene after that reflects the current ManVeer equation. Maanyata puts a finger on UV and calls him a whole string of abuses and UV backs away , amused until he is about to back up to the wall. This means that he will always let Maanyata play as long as she is in her limit. And then, UV shushes her and backs her towards to the wall , asking her what all he taught her in the morning. And an eye blinking Maanyata starts chattering like a parrot. Meaning , UV will tame Maanyata only when needed. He has to keep a balance between love and leash to tackle Maanyata. And he is picking up that fast.
The date? To be honest, it was a complete ' ManVeer' date. UV was not plotting , planning , menacing or threatening. He was beautifully nice to her without any darkness. We have not seen him this soft ever like he was today. Telling her sweetly to tie her seat belt , to smile at him , looking at her warmly as she enjoyed the ride and the wind while abusing him, treating her like a queen even though she was as crass as ever. Smiling at her antics as she calls 'wine' 'daaru' , amused when she hates the salad , calling in for dessert which she laps up happily, just watching her eat and drink and listening to her colourful language. I mean, forget what are UV's plans. For those 5 minutes , he was the best guy in the world . Simply because he tried to make her understand that his world and her world may be totally different but they can be one. No villain-ish music, no evil grins , no badass mind talks. UV was genuinely happy with her. If you didn't know the back story , you could never say that it was a forced black mail date.
Maanyata? Don't be surprised but she was happy. She really was. Jabbering , chatting , laughing. Yes, with UV. Strange? It is but maybe that is Providence. The scene where UV teaches Maanyata target shooting , correcting her body posture , delicately tucking her hair behind her ear , holding her in position so that she can shoot the aim ' there is nothing hot or sexy or sexually charged up about it even though they are physically the closest that they have been till now. The scene is warm and a pleasure to the eyes where Maanyata is fragile and UV , protecting and guiding.
Yes, UV and Maanyata do not love each-other today. UV thinks of her as his property and is awestruck by this wild child. Maanyata has a bitter sweet relationship with him but deep down she knows he has a hold over her , an impact over her. Or why else she would give in to his power-matic side and why she got up and moved away from UV, unsettled when he wiped the cream off her lips. Point being , there is that 'SOMETHING' between them and they both are running away from it.
But'. BAD BAD MOVE PRINCESS. She seriously thought that taking off with the sleeping pill will go down as nothing with UV? Well, it did and he took it very very badly. Was he angry? If you see the scene- NO. More than angry , he felt betrayed and let down. Anger is secondary here. UV felt something else. Maanyata had made a fool of him and it did get to him. He doesn't want to hurt the sleeping pill and he wants no bloodbath ' he firmly and coldly warned him when the pill interrupted as UV took away Maanyata.
However, the scene was not between ManVeer and Aakash. It was between ManVeer only and you won't even notice Aakash. A showdown where Maanyata once again insulted UV and threw it in his face that being nice to him doesn't mean that she will love UV. UV , on the other hand, stern, grim, rejected and both his heart and his ego pricked maintained his calm and told her in cold intelligence that he hates to see her cry but if it's a war ' a war it is. UV has declared war and he told her that now whatever happens next , she better be prepared for it. Maanyata was cowered again but she is on for the fight.
One moment , ManVeer were laughing and giving hi-5s to each-other and the next moment , they declared war on each-other. How can you not be riveted by their saga?
UV has a chance to be good and he likes being good for Maanyata and he is very happy with her. When Jaanwar came to UV to play kitchen politics regarding Maanyata, UV told her to get lost because HE WAS IN A HAPPY MOOD. How many times have you heard UV say that? Maanyata fights with UV , abuses him because she doesn't know what else to do which will not make her blink her eyes at him.
Beauty and the Beast'. The most loved fairytale, thus begins.
Lastly, Jaanwar and Vijay are reading UV all wrong. If they think that UV will forget Maanyata just because she is not of his class and will reject him by pricking his ego , they are in for a surprise. Everytime Maanyata will reject UV, they will only get closer. Rajwaadon ka khoon hai ' agar ek ubaal maarega to doosre mein se dhuaan to niklega hi. ManVeer are cut from the same cloth ' they will find their way to each-other.
