Eleventh OS- Vengence and its Aftermath

Akash had been gone for over a month now. He had lost his job and his parents and him moved far away to save face after his sudden arrest. Soni had called her up and told her everything. Chikki was too upset to speak to her.

She stared out the very window she had looked out of at both happy times and the that fateful night when Akash was arrested and taken away. It seemed like a distant memory now. Things had changed drastically since then. She had lessons almost every day. Udayveer barely talked her nowadays. Unnati rarely smiled or reached out to her anymore.

Manyata understood that everyone was upset with her for different reasons. She realized it was her stupidity that led her to lose everything. In fact most of the family and their associates thought of her as a misfit. She looked out ant the balcony, and before she knew it she was edging towards the ledge.

Udayveer sighed to himself. He realized he had distanced himself from Manyata for awhile now. Somewhere in his mind he sensed today he should be near her. He should begin to build up their relationship again. After all she would be his maharani someday. He couldn't stand Jai Nandini jeering at them thinking she would win him in return. Unnati was feeling low. Yes they all three had betrayed him but more than anything he wanted things to start improving again.

He arrived in Manyata's room and was surprised to see her missing.

"Manyata?," he called out.

He noticed a slight breeze from the open balcony window. He lifted the curtain and the sight before him stopped him stone cold.

"Manyata!," he yelled as she almost stepped off the ledge.

She yelped but sighed as his hand grabbed her wrist.

He reached down and pulled her up.

He held her close to himself before taking a deep breath and leading her inside.

He held her by her upper arms and yelled," What were you doing out there?,"

Her eyes brimmed with tears.

"Kisi ko meri zaroorzat nahin hain. Who am I living for ?," she exclaimed.

He shook her slightly.

" You are living for your family. Dadisab, Brijraj Uncle and Komal Auntie all care for you so much," he yelled.

" Unke paas Jai Nandini hai, mera kya?," she exclaimed.

He tightened his grip on her.

" Dekho mere liye sirf tumhe ho! Mera humsaafar aur koi nahin ho sakta," he declared.

She looked at him stunned.

"After everything I have done and said to you in the past, you are still saying all this?," she stated.

He nodded firmly.

She clutched his collar and cried her heart out.

"Udayveer muhje maaf kardo. I always misunderstood you," she wailed.

He suddenly pulled away. He gave her the stern look he had been giving her the past few times they had met. Manyata was left standing in shock. What was his deal?

First he saved her, then yelled at her, then said some sweet words and now he had pushed her away again.

She wiped her tears. She would have to find a way to make It up to him.

She dialed Unnati's number later that night.

"Manyata what is this I am hearing? I got it out of Dada. You gave him quite the scare," she quipped.

"Unnati I want him to be his oldself again. I hate this silence between us now. Can you help me?," Manyata inquired.

Unnati pondered for a moment before replying," Remember next week is that Jaighar tourism shoot. Let's go shopping for some nice clothes. Also you have to figure out how to surprise Dada a bit. You have to make him realize you really mean it. His heart has been broken Manyata, It will be a hard task but not impossible."

Manyata smiled to herself. Enough of this mopey business. She would follow all the rules but she wouldn't try to trick or hurt anyone this time.

They rode in the heavily armed parade towards the photo shoot location. Manyata knew she had to make things up to Udayveer. She rather fight him then be on the receiving end of his silent treatment.

He was wearing a black sherwani for the first set of pictures. He was pleasantly surprised when she emerged with her hair up and wearing a baby pink gown. She looked graceful and it seemed like she had flashed him a genuine smile for once.

He stiffened trying to hide his happiness.

She nudged him as they prepared to pose for the first set of photographs. He eyed her with puzzlement.

" Look ahead at the camera Rajkumar Udayveer," she hissed.

The photographer asked for them to change poses. She placed her hands on his shoulder and chest. He wrapped an arm around her waist.

She smiled brightly.

"Tum theek to ho Manyata?," he inquired.

"Of course meri jaan," she joked.

He glared at her in shock. She nudged him in the ribs as she turned to pose facing the other direction.

He held her waist more firmly this time. She tried to keep smiling as his warm breath tickled her upper back.

" Vaise aaj tum bahut khuboosrat lagri ho," he hissed in her ear when they had a short break.

"I am glad you liked the dress. Now if you excuse me I must go change for the next round," she said.

He grabbed her arm and pulled her close. He reached back and unclipped her hair.

"Don't tie your hair up for the next one. You look better with it opened," he said before giving a slight nudge.

She frowned. He was a tough cookie to crack. Here she had tried to break him in and he had not caved just yet.

The next few photos were taken without much words exchanged between the two.

Night fell , they would return to Mumbai the following afternoon.. Manyata sighed she had another idea. She smiled and quickly made a few calls.

Udayveer was surprised to hear a knock on his door. He opened it with a smug smile, thinking it would be Manyata trying to pacify him again.

Instead it was a clown with a red hair and a big red rose.

"Aap kaun hain?," he inquired.

The clown simply smiled brightly and handed him a card.

It read:

I am sorry Udayveer. Please join me for dinner at 8pm.

Manyata.

The clown bowed before scampering off.

Manyata grabbed a green dress to wear for dinner. She tried to make herself look presentable. She realized she was running late and made the call for the first note to be given.

Udayveer lifted the lid of the first plate to find one of his favorite dishes and a note. He picked it up to read it.

" I know we have had bittersweet memories so far. I was wondering if we could start over."

Udayveer pondered it for a moment. He tried a bite. The food was good but where was his date.

Next came a rose and note.

The rose was pink.

" It is told we give pink roses to those who are special to us,"

Manyata rushed in and giggled at Udayveer's raisd eyebrows after he read the note. She strode in pretending she had done nothing.

" Oh finally my date is here. So Manyata what will you have?," Udayveer inquired.

She smiled.

"Paneer makhani and biryani," she stated with glee. Udayveer signaled the waiter who took their orders and then went away.

"So Manyata looks like I have a secret admirer," he quipped.

She smiled.

"Let me guess which one of your deewanis sent it. Was it Unnati's friend Sasha? Last week Jai Nandini was fumin about a girl with that name,"Manyata said.

Udayveer rolled his eyes.

" Sasha is just a friend. She isn't my type," he quipped.

Manyata nodded.

The food arrived. They ate and talked about random topics. Udayveer told her to not mention her bratty sister.

After dessert arrived, so did the final note.

It read:

"Toh kya khyal hain. Mujhe se dosti karoge?"

Udayveer smirked.

Manyata smiled back at him.

"Let me guess your secret admirer?." She quipped.

She continued to eat her ice cream. Some got on her chin. Udayveer smiled at her antics.

He leaned over and wiped her face. She didn't veer away as quickly as she had the first time. He quickly wiped her chin and smirked at her before getting up and sitting down to eat his ice cream.

She stared at him shocked.

Nothing she had done had affected him tonight. She sighed. She would have to go back to the drawing board again. She sighed, dropping her spoon and signaling for the check.

To his surprise she handed over more than just the money for the food She added a heavy tip and then walked away before he could argue with her.

He caught up to her. He grabbed her by the arm.

Manyata was taken by surprise. Looking back at him it reminded her of their second meeting.

"Jaane se pehle humara chota sa sawal ka jawab dedo," he stated.

She looked at him surprised. Dj vu was the way to describe it.

He caressed her hair.

"Humse dosti karogi?," he inquired.

She smiled slightly.

"Tumhe kya lagta hai? Haan Nain Toh," she replied.

He smiled at her and put an arm around her. They went on a long walk before retiring that night. Nok-jok continued on the way home up to when they entered the raj mahal, standing close together and laughing.

Vijay Bhai stood shocked with his eyeballs bulging out. Jai Nandini steaming mad. Komal, Brijraj and Dadisa along with others were filled with relief.

Later when Udayveer entered his home Unnati peered from her doorway and smiled. Manyata's plan had worked its magic and she had her brother back.
