Uday has a mystique, a classiness aura about his personality which compliments him being a royal. He is charming, smart, mysterious... and I kinda like his wicked-ness lol.. if he has any!! He is not a cry baby, but a REAL MAN who's a go getter!👏👍🏼

lol agree with you mahi.Well said👏
And about Aakash. lol He is still a baby.

Thank you all for sharing your in depth analysis of the two characters. interesting one of "hot" Uday vs "uncle-ji" Akash! That said, I doubt the gals in the forum who are going all goo gaa over Uday realize that part of his "bad boy" charm is rooted in the fact that he was "to the manor born" unlike Akash who is a self made man. I think that is where their differences lie. It was funny to read some comments that said that Uday was a "self made" man- sorry- you got that wrong! Akash is the self made man here, not Uday.

The ideas of "security" each one has and how far they go to challenge or not, is defined by this fine line. The urdu word "sharafat" is what I would like to use here- that basic sense of honor one has for fellow humans. The reason why Uday crosses that line of "sharafat" and why Akash does NOT is self evident- Uday can "afford" to, Akash cannot- at least for now as he is not economically independent enough to have enough power to deal with the Udays of the world.

Further, the rhetoric used here is what was explored pre French revolution by great writers like Rousseau, Voltaire and others that brought about the revolution along with political, economic unrest across France that had far reaching effects around the world.

The pre and post 1990s India is clearly expressed here. The "safe" Akash would be the choice of a "self reliant" bourgeois that has a clear sense of morality and will not want the aristocracy to win. A confident, "rich", upwardly mobile India would certainly prefer the 'wicked" Count or Prince as they now want to be the new aristocrats as "wealth" is the goal, at the cost of moral values.

The stories we tell and share reflect the psyche of our times. I am not "looking" at the physical attributes of the two male leads, rather am "looking" at the qualities they espouse. In all these "stories" the "girl" or in this case the "princess" is the "prize" to be won. The question is which of the two characters "win" the prize? This is an age old question explored in every epic and novel and play since Ramayana days!

Until then, keep "dreaming" along! I shall come back with my exploration about "love" vs "infatuation"- from "experience" hum bole to!!LOL!

Thank you once more to make me feel so welcome in the forum though I have taken a totally different view point! Love to be "different"!

To be honest I both agree and disagree with your analysis of Akash vs Udayveer. It doesn't matter who the self made man here is at least not to me. Just because one person is of a wealthy background doesn't mean he is less than someone who had to work his way up. Both these men come from completely different family + financial backgrounds so personally I don't think they are even comparable to each other. In order to compare two things there has to be some commonalities between the two different variables that are being pitied against each other. And as we can see there are no commonalities between these two men. I think they are both good in their own way and the one we like more depends completely on our own perceptions, personalities and experiences.

Glad to see a differing viewpoint here though (:

Hi! Am new here as I just started to catch up with this show today! Have seen until the point where Akash has surrendered his love for Moniya with deference to Manyata. That said, I think that this is a beautiful story about 2 simple people who loved each other with no pretensions.

Udayveer is a complicated fellow and he is too cold right now. Whatever he does, he does for a reason and he treats Manyata like a prey that is hard to get. There is no love there. I know many of you in the forum will have my hide for that, but such a "matlabi" guy does not know the "L" of Love. He is selfish and unless an act of God makes him become sensitive all of a sudden, Jay is a better spouse for him as she understands him very well and she shares more with him.

Likewise, even if for a short while, Akash shares more in common with Manyata and hence he will be a far better pair for Manyata than Udayveer- in the long run.

The track I would like to see is how Akash puts all his effort in becoming a great person- a self-made man who will come (in 2 years or so) to the Rajbhavan as an honorary guest and meet Manyata who will try to put on royal airs and avoid him and flirt outrageously with Udayveer! That would be wonderful and will make Akash super jealous and he will want to then win back his love!

There are several ways to spin this track and for now, the make over of the ugly duckling is more interesting than who will win the hand of the princess!

Enjoy!

Yayy your here too! Soo good to see you here! 😃🤗

Of course you need to compare and contrast because of that very reason because their "common point" that you overlooked is "Manyata"! She is the common denominator here. Even if you took the Aadi kavya Ramayana, Valmiki is very kind to Ravana by making a truly great king and scholar and musician endowed with many virtues. Even Mandodari who loves him sings his praises to Sita at the Ashoka Vanam to make her change her mind. Vibheeshana, who changes sides later, extols the virtues of Ravana and begs him to return Sita to her husband. Angad who is sent as a final ambassador for a peace treaty also sings his praises to him as does Hanuman when he is brought in front of Ravana. In spite of all those lists of virtues, what won the war for Rama was his steadfast devotion to dharma. Dharma does not spare anyone. The only weakness Ravana had in spite of all his other virtues was his super large ego that made him think that no woman can say No to him. That was his downfall. Had he but honored Sita's wishes and returned her with all honor to Rama, there would be no Ramayana to read about today! Of course, in Kali yuga, I am seeing stories where Sita decides to stay with Ravana than going back to Rama! Any thing is possible. these days as we have swerved far from the path of Dharma.

Since, there has been a petition about making manyata and uday as the lead couple of DEK. I thought of creating the poll. Hope CV's will listen to it!!
