Have you observed foreign nationals in any country are kinna of stepped down state of mind, but to a level.

But seeing desi's in US am like...I mean even tho they are right ...they don;t hitch to say sorry... and accepting a mistake which they never made.

Keep wondering why?? is it becuase of complex or its just the fact any foreign national will adopt the same atitude, fearing the locals.

Aren't we over cautious and considerate in foreign nations ?

Dont know about inferiority complex...but all people, regardless of their nationality, do act weird and bizzare whenever they are outside of their comfort zone. For some desis, the whole notion of being in a foreign country, is scary and intimidating..and so they show their awkwardness in this situation by over-apologizing for things that arent their fault and having, as you call it, an inferiority complex. But then again, I also know of other people, desis and other nationalities alike, who when put in a situation outside their comfort zone, act overly cool and obnoxiously arrogant. I know of some Americans (no offense meant) who act like idiots when they go to an underdeveloped country, acting as though everyone they encounter is a starving, underpriviledged person in need of help. So yeah, I think it goes both ways. I think, ultimately it's all about how people behave when they're in a situation foreign to them, that may be outside of their comfort zone. Some people act all terrified, some act awkwardly over-"cool", and the smart ones just accept the situation as it is and accept themselves as they are.

people develop their earliest and perhaps most identifiable feelings of self-worth based on how they look, more than money or anything. so i think it's natural for most desis to have certain complexes vis-a-vis' foreigners. we can even see these hangups within our country, between regions. am not saying that's good, just the way it is. 😊

Ok here is the true reason... people coming to western countries are aware that they are coming to a better place, thats enough to create feelings of inferiority compared to those who are born with that privilege. Doesnt mean the ABCD's are better off.. The overall inferiority springs from somethings thats average to something thats good.. whether its money, life-style, different though not superior culture...all this gives feelings of inferiority.....these feelings are nothing to do with personal looks or abilities.. but just the unknown and unlearnt things while getting around...

I would not say it is inferiority complex. It is a natural reaction of a person outside their comfort zone. The lifestyle, culture and language is alien so they tend to act in a cautious manner. Not just Indians, many people act awkward in a foreign culture.

The apologetic nature is also not inferiority. Indians are culturally raised to be polite, accommodating and non-confrontational. An Indian would consider it prudent and even more respectable to accept the blame rather than escalate the issue and deteriorate relations.

Americans who are raised in a more confrontational environment would rather argue and be abrasive than accept defeat, even if it is their fault. Hence many American tourists are vehemently disliked across the world for their abrasive nature.

Happens with first generation of immigrants anywhere. The second generation tends to be more "native" and confident in nature and personality no matter what the color of their skin, black, white , brown or yellow.

natural reaction is to behave thier ownself irrespective of anything but for few I never that happening. Am like bhai..no need to say sorry..and get an answer..arrey yaar tu samjhta nahi hai..blah s*...nah am saying based on funda of in Rome be romans..but don't be apologitic on somethings that isn't wrong.😃

Great Point!! Same is felt is by foreigners visiting any country...but they are what they are... but the scare factor can understand..if a gora/latin comes to India and does an actions thats is offensive ..can cost a lot..better to be on apolog..tic mode..to avoid any troubles...may be a scape goatish explanation to justify atti. of few.
