"Middle Class" is the majority of the population in a developing country. Middle Class has its impact and gets impacted by every aspect such as Political situation, Economic situation etal. Their direct and indirect contibution to a nation is major incomparison to low class or higher class.Regarding the aspect of values, its the Middle class who carry forward the system traditions of a society. Any civilization or any country is estimated on the basis of the living conditions of Middle class people at that period of time. There is no much difference in the higher class and lower class at any point of time.

Such is the importance of Middle class😛. Politicians are the best people to understand the movements of middle class people.

According to me, the people can be classiifed into

Lower Lower Class

Lower Class

***********************

Lower Middle Class(LMC)

Middle Middle Class(MMC)

Higher Middle Class(HMC)

***************************

High Class

Higher High Class

With the increase in MNC's somany people are upgrading from MMC to HMC. This upgradition does'nt make them Higher class. The band gap between Higher Middle class and high class is extreme, it takes lot of time for people to reach the higher class level from the middle class category. Just having some crore money or a Skoda car does'nt make a person high class. The point we need to understand is the standard of middle class increased immensely. There is nothing wrong in Deepika being called a girl with Middle class values.😊

Thank you for expressing this excellently. Your classification of people is correct. the difference between high class and upper middile class is huge.

Now the upper middle class and middile middle class are imitating the life style of high class and some point they lost all the essential virtue of life. Extra marital affairs ( now it is increasing among upper middle calss and working women) and leaving partners for silly reasons are prevalent. Now the younger girls are thinking that liberation of womanhood is partying, drinking, smoking and leaving or exchanging partners. Now this is modern and high class thinking and living. Boost of IT give opportunity to our youngsters along with money but middle class values are losing But not yet lost fully.

Saw Baazigar last night and found this "high society" tea scene very funny. This middleclass guy comes with his son to Kajol's place for possible mariage proposal for Shilpa shetty. Tea is served and the son notices it is just plain hot water without tea leaves , and his dad says - beta this is how rich drink their tea..😆 so pi ley..

i think another way of segmenting society is along following lines- high-class, middle-class and no-class. 😛 doesnt necessarily mirror economic divisions of course, just values. middle class values are generally good, but often come with hypocrisy, which is why i think high-class is preferable any time. does not just mean high-class living, but high-class thinking. can be garib, but can still have gee-for-jiyo and pee-for-piyo kinda thinking, no? 😛 😆

btw, what is the debate? whether aish is truly middle-class 😛😆 , or whether middle-class is superior? 😊

Once I am in an Airport, seen a well known person(sorry I can not tell his name), we can not be classified him in upper middle class but real high class. A small kid of five or six accompanying his mother(an ordinary person ) unintentionally touched him, the words come out of his mouth was unthinkable (all foul words of English came out). Surely, this is high thinking and better than middle class hipocrisy😉

Another time, in a supper market a high class gentleman slapped a sales boy for a simple reason of touching him while rushing for something. It was not a delibrate one, but the manager scold the boy, this may be also a way of high thinking and high living😉.

that's high class thinking? lol. see that's what i meant. cant confuse high-class living with high-class thinking. i thought i had it up there😉

in any case, i dont think it works well to project from rare exceptions we can find with everything. it's like holding up a rogue or two, a hitler, anytime someone suggests the world is generally good. not good😉

Not all people with loads of money r bad. similarly, not all with l'il less (so called middle class) r good. i feel values r values and good values r good values...period. don't know why we need to run down a particular class to prove how the other one is better 😕

Families shown in serials are anything but "middle class"...they are rich families and people mocking at them (in the serials) are Super Rich.

Lagta hai ki serial waalo ko pata nahin hai ki ek middle class family kaisi hoti hai (waise mujhe yeh lower class/middle class/upper class terminologies se sakht nafrat hai).
