Most of you feel that being emotional is not a hindrance to the leadership.....

My questions are:

A leader represents the nation or a group. He or she need to lead a nation or group. If the leader is very emotional and displays his emotions easily......and if his decisions have effect on the people of that nation or group .......

DOES IT HAVE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THAT NATION or GROUP?

Personaly it would appear wimpy to me to see a leader displaying weaker emotions on a whim. It is ok to cry for 9/11, tsunami or when touring African village in Uganda where almost half of child population is orphaned by Aids.

Newswriters everywhere loved using the song by Leslie Gore for Hillary's outbreak of emotion - "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you
" πŸ˜†

I think crying has to be taken in context. A disabled veteran was telling his story. Had she not shown emotions people would have jumped into say she does not care for veterans or is too stoic, or lacks respect towards the armed forces.

As a woman damned if you cry, damned if you don't.

A good leader is sensitive, empathic and sympathetic. They are compassionate about what people feel, think and do. They understand emotions and express them. Being emotional does not mean the person is not a good leader. However, a person should be in control of their emotions. Their decisions should be balanced and a combination of rational thought and emotional feeling. They should not let emotions sway them irrationally.

A person who is swung by emotions is unstable. A person who is not emotional cannot connect with people.

Clintons... Vinu not all women..πŸ˜› but I agree at the bold statement you made. 😊

FROM CNN's Jack Cafferty:

Hillary Clinton is promising that in her White House there wouldn't be any new scandals involving her husband, former President Bill Clinton. πŸ˜• πŸ˜• πŸ˜• πŸ˜•

She was asked in an interview how people can be certain that a new personal or business scandal won't erupt that Republicans could use to blow her agenda and her administration out of the water.

Clinton replied: "You know, I just can assure this reader that that is not going to happen. You know, none of us can predict the future, no matter who we are and what we're running for, but I'm very confident that that will not happen."

History suggests otherwise. Bill Clinton's eight years in the White House were plagued by scandals – from Whitewater to Gennifer Flowers, to Monica Lewinsky to his impeachment. http://caffertyfile.blogs.cnn.com/

being able to feel the emotions is a good thing, as distinct from always wearing them on your sleeve. former lets you develop empathy/ connection with others you are trying to lead, including letting you know whether display of the latter is a winning strategy. πŸ˜‰ best of course if that feel for the moment comes naturally 😊

also, there are a range of emotions, from anger to pride to hurt. dont know why it only has to be rona-dhona. πŸ˜› is that because so many folks are such an emotional lot that they are immune to the more subtle versions? unless it's accompanied by a lot of kekta-type melodrama?πŸ˜‰

Hillary Clinton close to tears as cracks begin to show

Democratic presidential hopeful and New York Senator Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton came close to tears during a campaign stop in New Hampshire as new polls showed her trailing Barack Obama on the eve of the crucial state primary.

At a coffee shop in Portsmouth, Mrs Clinton became emotional when asked by a woman voter: "How do you keep upbeat and so wonderful?"

After beginning her answer, her voice began to break and tears filled her eyes. "You know, this is very personal for me. It's not just political it's not just public. Some people think elections are a game, lot's of who's up or who's down, [but] it's about our country."

Polls show Mr Obama is set to claim another emphatic victory in New Hampshire's Democratic primary tomorrow following his success in Iowa last week. He told ecstatic supporters at another packed rally: "You're the wave and I'm riding it." Later, he told a TV interview: "We obviously started something, now we've got to finish it."

Can emotional people become good leaders?

yes, they sure can, as long as they know how to keep their emotions in check. it's great to have the ability to empathize with others around you. that will make you a good leader as people will feel connected to you but keeping the emotions in check when u r in office or with public is important too.

Are women more emotional? Is this the reason for finding less woman leaders?

yes, generally, women are more emotional. that's the way we are wired and then the society and its gender based expectations also has an effect.

No, I don't think this is the reason for finding less woman leaders. Why don't we see as many female politicians as male could be another debate😊

or

Is being emotional is a postive quality.

like i said, if you know how to keep'em in check and can use your judgement when to let others see your tears and when not, being in touch with ur emotional side is a positive quality for everyone.

Do tears fetch votes?

depends which position u r running for and when do u decide to shed them!!! tearing up while listening to a moving battle field experience of a war veteran or visiting children's ward in a cancer hospital are more acceptable than the situation narrated above!!! i feel one can actually use tears to get more votes if they shed them wiselyπŸ˜‰

Do you vote make a change in your vote when you see a contestant who sheds tears?(in reality and in reality TV shows)?

πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜† nope. i actually detest all those rona dhona appeals on reality t.v. shows. i never vote for any one, no matter how much i like them but i do like people who just compete and try giving their best w/o al the natak mandalee. Prakriti of ASVOI Chhotey Ustaad is a perfect example😊 so are anwesha and aishwarya. i do not see their families staging dramas to beg for votes. i started detesting Aamir on srgmp after that gareebi wala av they aired to supposedly help him out!!!

I feel women will be more prone to being judged and inspected under a micriscope for all the reactions they show in a presidential campaign as this position is still considered a male's domain by the majority.

i am not saying i support hillary or i am against obama...i am just making a point here. as it is, a woman has to be at least twice as good as a man to be considered for the same position (and she still gets paid less!!!). every one putting hillary under microscope and magnifying all her doings is not really surprising me😊
