National Anthem

Was at a grocery store, they had all patriotic songs playing

Some of the dadiji's and the auntiji's were busy picking up vegetables and humming the songs,

4th song came out to be the "Jana Gana Mana". Everybody kept humming walking around going from the thela of "Bhindi" to "Mirchi" without missing a heartbeat(and still humming😉)

Keep the theory aside(that you will stand in place and make everyone stand too, we had over 50 people in the store, none was standing still)

Imagine yourself in say Patel Cash and carry and this situation, what will you do?

Do you think it is a mistake of the Recording company to put the national anthem in the cassette of Patriotic songs?

Would you still do the same if you got a spot to pick up Bhindi and you have a line behind you and the granny behind you is already poking you with her shoulder to get done already😆?

Do you think the store owner should be reprimanded?

for me, luckily I had the role of "cart-manager" this weekend, so I got to stand still while the whole national anthem was being played, yes couple of chachi's gave me a weird look😆 few of them were confused seeing me stand over there, contemplating whether they should stand still too(ok I confess I didnt have the hand over my heart, I was holding to the cart dearly, have had experiences of cart stolen or items stolen from it😆)

If the store was quite busy I probably would carry on at register and finish. But if not many people I probably would stand in corner quietly while song was playing 😃.

Why? What has he done? Actually I am happy he played those patriotic songs during our Independence day. The store's name is "Patel cash and carry" right?? So Indian store playing patriotic song around independence day is fine with me. 👏

Not yet in store. But in movie theatre it has and I have always stood still with my hand over my heart. 😃

While hearing the National anthem ...if it is possible for us to stand still...we should stand ...

Atleast during that song we need to respect the nation! I get irked or feel sad when people move around or not bother at all while hearing the National anthem ...as if it is not a specail song.....I think some people stare and stand still ..seeing the steps of Hritik Roshan or Urmila more than ....sparing some seconds for the National Anthem.I too stare at Hritik Roshan😉 but at the same time when National Anthem is being played I try to stand still!

In my school days.. at the end of the day.National Anthem used to be played and if in that time if we are moving in the ground..... or walking in the corridors... we used to stand still as if some one has given some current shock!!! It was a rule in our school not to move an inch when the national anthem in played.....

Once a teacher told me that singing our National Anthem in an enclosed room is disrespect to it. If it is broadcasted on Radio or TV then again standing still is a disrespect. I have believed in it since then so I would pass it as it is.

I think it is. National Anthem is not your regular patriotic song and it shouldn't be included in that set.

I have never seen a bhindi line😆. In any case my answer is as above.

anywhere i would stand still for national anthem.... i would nt feel embarassed.... but i never put hand on heart.... i just bow my head towards end of song😊

I think so because a national anthem is not a regular song to be played with VCD.... it has its own times😊

A national anthem has to be accorded special privilege, you should stand still take off your cap's or head gear if possible

They shouldnt put the national anthem in patriotic songs, National anthem requires special attention and it shouldnt be put in a cassette, especially it shouldnt be like the song in the middle

Every citizen/ex-citizen has to realize their responsibility, they should refrain from buying anything that might potentially voilate those common norms

Music Companies have to understand this issue and act accordingly

You always stand up, stand still for anyone's national anthem(whether it is American National anthem, Pakistani national anthem or Indian national anthem), if it is your national anthem, you put your hand on your heart to convey with all my heart I say this(the national anthem)

Just my opinion

here in thailand i went to one of the parks and they played the king's anthem in the evening..... all the people who were running or sitting.... stood up and stood still.... (whether the person is thai or not).....

i agree that the national anthem is of special importance and shd not be mixed with national anthems😊
