Can critics be good administrators???

Esteemed Friends of DM!!!

Hope you all are having good week end!!!

May I present before you the topic :

CAN GOOD CRITICS BE GOOD ADMINISTRATORS??

Example: Communist party in India.They are good critics but not good administrators(except for west bengal and Kerala)

Often we see people criticising the things/system very easily ofcourse in a constructive manner but given a chance to administer the same system they too do those mistakes!!

The ability to criticize, ability to constructively suggest solutions and administrative powers to implement solutions may / may not be found in the same individual / a group of individuals. I believe sometimes education may help in developing the missing qualities, but sometimes even that fails to help. Since education/ assessment of such essential qualities is not a criterium for selecting people that rule us, what can we expect? 😳

what is your defination of a good Critic Myth? let us have that first then we will talk about whether they make good administrators or not

Your example about Communists Party of India is wrong(offcourse IMO), they are not good critics, how can they be, the most common allegation against them is when it rains in Mainland China, they open up a umbrella(for those who do not understand comparisions, it means, they take a theory and apply it to a situation where it does/may not apply). The CPI has certain ideals and their criticism is based upon those ideals and it is not uniform across the board

Hey mythili.....great topicc!!! kiran hea...well all i wud like to say is...if u dun like anything....either adjust to it or stand against it and try to bring sum change...and we shud always remember that critics shud never be taken srsly cuz no statue has ever been setup in honour of a critic!!!!😉😉😉...thats a quote i read somewhere.....critics cant be gud administrators becaus they only see the negative side not the positive aspect of things and when they have to do something themselves...tehy are helpless!!!

According to me good critic is one who analyses the situation impartially and who expressess the opinion without any preconceived notions and without any hypocrisy!!

Yes ! What you said about communists is true to some extent but not all the times!! We too joke that communists in India open the umbrella's if it rains in Moscow or Beijing!!

My topic of the debate ,is some category of people judge and analyse the things well when they are not in some responsible posts and when those people are given the chance to adminster the thing they are critising,they will not be able to lead it well!!!

There's no hard and fast rule as such, critics may or may not be good administrators. There are many people who say that they can do a better job and when the occassion arrives for them to prove themself they really do a better job. But then there are people who're born only to criticise and are satisfied doing that, they'll never come forward to take responsibility. IMO those who not only criticise others but also have a burning desire to prove that they're better and are just waiting to grab that oppurtunity when it arrives, can be good administrators.

I like communism and some of their views... i cud get was ideology rules our comrades more than their prathibadhada to our people...i think they consider it some sort of wrong to be making demands for aid from a capitalist setup like the upa govt!
last week i asked a friend with left sympathies why the party collected funds for china in the 1962 war. his reply was india ws behaving like an imperialist! i asked him what china did in tibet in the 50's was not imperialism and he went back to the 1917 revolution and began some long story! 😉

An administrator should be critic and accepting criticism also part of admin jobs...😊
