In the last week I have noticed a lot of favors being given to people because of who they are and nothing being asked in return.

1. I went in for a sandwich shop close to where I work and the guy didn't charge be anything and delivered it to me, so I wouldn't have to wait for it. They don't do that for anybody else that works their or my parents who own the place where I work. Is that fair???

2. My friend got pizza at school and two minutes later I got the same pizza but I was given a free slice for no apparent reason. Is that fair??

3. My father told a guy doing work for us that he was going to be paid half of what he was asking and instruct my uncle to do so because he had to leave. When the guy is done with his work, I tell him once that he should be happy with half of what he is asking and he immediately agrees and doesn't argue with me like he did with my dad. Is that fair??

In all these situations it has been fair for me but has it really been fair for the other people involved?? In most cases it is usually guys that do this stuff but sometimes girls do the same thing. Why do people do favoritism and is it right. Another think to notice is I barely know these people and don't offer them anything in return for what they do for me.

Giving free stuff or nearly free stuff to one person but not another........is it right????

What do you guys think? Has this ever happened to you??

Hey, I would say stop analyzing too much and start living and enjoying life...

Its not unfair, unless the guy is expecting something in return or he is serving the other people lesser than what they were paying him..

I agree its nice gesture but it makes people that don't get the same favor feel bad. Like if there are other people standing around and only one person gets the favor for no apparent reason, it looks weird.

I guess you are right. I did start this topic because I felt guilty. And wanted to know how others felt about this issue. Would you be happy if someone gets something for half price and you both got the same thing at the same time but you had to pay full price?? I know if I was in that position I wouldn't be very happy.

When you are in a group and only you are favoured then naturally others stare at you or they might feel, oh why not us.... but in such a case the person getting favoured cannot do anything... and in reality it is not your fault.... But... well if getting freebies and favours, is making you feel guilty then dont take them.... 😊

Can I be you for a day at the very least? 😆

In a world where everything has a price, freebies with no strings attached are a god-sent gift. But if guilt is attached then, by all means, don't accept it.

To be honest, some of the situations you presented seemed a bit.. odd. Certainly out of the ordinary. Made me wonder if you were a celebrity 😳
Every one of the situations you preseneted had me questioning the motives of the person offering the free things. If the sandwich thing is a frequent occurance you might want to inquire into the practice... that's rather atypical of any business. Free slice of pizza... it might have been the last? *shrug*

On the whole.. I wouldn't be averse to receiving a free thing here and there. Lord knows even breathing feels like an extravagant frivolty these days. (The gas prices made me sick today ). A free something is much appreciated, esp by the wallet and accepted happily, unless there are unsavory side-deals involved.

First of all I am not celebrity, defientently not pretty enough to be one.

I would love freebies and getting good deals, if it didn't happen all the time. I can't remember the last time I paid for a sandwich or the last time I paid full price for anything, except at major stores.

Why are people nice for no apparent reason??? Is there a reason??? Is it pity?? what is it???
