  • You still have no clue about child obesity becoming an epidemic around you, do you? (U r in the US right? Ever looked around u??)i do see fat kids around but not something to be alarmed about...
  • AIDS had no crazy numbers and statistics in 80s. How many people die of AIDS today everyday worldwide? yes this may be valid and suddenly you will see 120lbs 15 year olds all oround...😆
  • Some people like to to look at the bigger picture, when they state an opinion. Unless I can find somewhere that more than 10% of the children from any sample population in the US is typeII diabetic... i will still think its pointless to panic and call it an epidemic...but u may have some better info to support that ...right now i think this is prevalent in black population dont know why.. every black kid is like a obese...

QT this is what i found on net

According to federal statistics, an estimated 20.8 million children and adults in the United States--7 percent of the population--have diabetes. An estimated 14.6 million of these people have been diagnosed, and some 6.8 million are thought to have type 2 diabetes without knowing it. Most people with diabetes have type 2; an estimated 5-10% have type 1.

Just 7% total has diabetes (forget the juveniles, most of these are adults) which can be epidemic if they all belong to the same town ....

I'll say even 7% is a very large number. What will your reaction be if it was 7% of the population suffer from cancer.

As for children, they are not supposed to suffer from diabetes whether 1 or 2 and even 1% will be a significant figure for them.

😆 type 1 is something you cant help... its like cancer u can just hope but cant guarantee not to have cancer...

7% is total kids and adults included... Yes ideally you dont want anybody to contribute to the statistics.. but all I am saying its not an epidemic....

well said souro! it is ridiculous to ask for 10% ppl to suffer. to make it significant. 😕.. another WHATEVER @ that from me.

QWERTY, it is not an epidemic YET, but with more and more people displaying the type of ignorance you displayed earlier, about NOT KNOWING THE EXISTENCE of it, it will eventually become an epidemic

Moreover, what percentage do you think is statsitically INSIGNIFICANT so as to not be bothered? 👎🏼 i am very disappointed yet again..

Life is not about numbers. Think wide, think deep, think ahead of times. Care for the future generations. Do you really think that endocrine physiologists seriously worried about prevalence of Type II onset have no work other than causing unnecessary fear? I suggest you to engage yourself in voluntary work somewhere, where you can actually SEE and COMPREHEND what life is for some.

Haila gussa kaay ko hoti hai...ok baba tuzya ghodyalach chaar paay bas..khush na aata...😆 - good advice is always good.. so advising kids to eat carefully is fine but kids living on broccoli, spinach and brown bread to avoid gettting obese will be a sad scene

@QT...you said that many child suffers from obesity. I think that is true in developed countries. As for India as far as my knowledge goes most child suffers from mal-nutrition and girls (both minor and adult) suffers from anaemia.

Its like this

India - anemia US - bulimia

India - under-nutrition US - malnutrition

India - intelligent US - ADHD

All fancy terms and acronyms come from the US....😆

If einstein were born in the US today he would be getting special needs education perhaps for his late learning abilities and then we wouldnt have had the special theory of relativity but "Special needs theory of relativity"😆
