But I've noticed ridiculous levels of nitpicking on all things political and religion related matters portrayed in movies, on this forum the last two years. I'm not sure if that's only limited to the forum or if it extends to all the people who live in India too right now but that can be stifling too.

I'm all for free speech and believe that the movie industry should exist independently of religious and political affiliations and agendas. But that ain't happening in today's world in Bollywood from the looks of it.... so what's next? Censorship?

Wow so you are saying have problem with people who are apparently doing "ridiculous levels of nitpicking" but have no problem with the neeyat of Bollywood who cunningly on purpose doing such things 👏

Also you are saying you don't watch movies to find political agendas etc. But you are talking about yourself. What about other gullible people like kids who get influenced movies?

This very thread is giving you of an example of innocuous kids song where intentionally a politicall/ religious message is inserted.

Slowly more and more people are realising the subtle and not-so-subtle propaganda of bollywood.

For more such examples follow @GemsOfBollywood on twitter

I remember its tweets on the rape culture and some other problematic shit propagated by some films and songs. Now that handle indulges in ridiculous levels of nitpicking.

Have u seen that video where he was angry at her daughter for enacting arti from some serial of Ekta Kapoor? If I'm not wrong he said he broke the tv too. Plus both him and the anchor were making fun of doing arti like pata nahi kaun sa bekaar kaam hai...

Yeah I'd watched it. He said he broke the TV after his daughter enacted the Aarti. The casual bigotry and hatred was sickening with the anchor laughing like a Surpanakha. Sicko Duckfridi must have been welcomed using those very Aarti Thaalis at Indian airports. He wasn't alien to any of it.

Duckfridi also defended the taliban saying that they came with a positive frame of mind and allowed women to work.

I don't know who is "cunningly on purpose doing such things." Are you talking about Kabir Khan in this thread admitting that he added something with a religious message? Didn't Bajrangi come out years back and do really well... and also promote a positive message all in all? That's what I remember watching. If there was a song where a word or two was out of line, forgive me for not noticing cuz I don't hang on to every darn word looking for blasphemy in movies, let alone a song I neither remember nor understand. If he did that on purpose, well, sure that bit should be condemned but why is he admitting it now.... what purpose does this admission serve him? Is he trying to say "look I mocked you all and got away with it'?? Makes no sense to me.

In any case, I'm just not on board with kicking up a fuss over any and every portrayal of religious matters in movies cuz someone or other will always find something upsetting or offending if you really go down that route. Unless you ban movies from showcasing anything religious at all ..... which also doesn't make sense cuz people in India are either Muslim or Hindus or Christians or Buddhists. You can't make a movie on them without them belonging to one of those religions and consequently their day to day routines that incorporate their religious ways, like singing Om Jai Jagdish in the morning, for example. Unless you want bollywood movies on Jains and atheists only -- to keep em free of biases and upsetting content.

Why is it that Bollywood thinks only Hindu needs to be taught a lesson?

Why is it that tolerance messages are reserved for Hindus?

Why there are thousand examples of Bollywood taking unfair advantage of leniency of Hindu religion but when it comes to other religion Bollywood stays Silent?

Script writers, lyricists, people associated with the industry in the background..their ideology matters a lot.

Take Anek for eg. It's trailer was praised a lot here. But what does it portray? That how rest of Indians r unaware of North East. This at a time when NE is getting most connected to other regions in a long long time..there r major infra n development works going on and the issues they faced for long r getting attention. Hope it has a positive impact and doesn't reiterate the feeling of isolation among NE population.

OT..This was the problem with an otherwise well made film like 83..had mentioned earlier too...those scenes didn't have relevance with the story..without them the movie would've done much much better. People could see through the intention
