nice job unifying, ninny!
Lol thats better. Just one problem. If you're trying to make it personal, then know that my own preference would be for English or punjabi. I can speak hindi but my writing skills would need a lot of work.. and i too would be at a disadvantage.. That said, unlike some selfish people who cant think of anything beyond their own narrow regional interests, I am fine with hindi given it is the language spoken by majority of our country men. English is disqualified because it has nothing to do with our long heritage. And again, I never talked about taking away anything. But am amazed to see some people being so resistant that they come up with one stupid reason after another. That person talked about northerners needing to feel grateful, so it was appropriate to give him a taste of his own medicine. The southern industries were not just created by southerners! Just like bollywood was not created just by marathis... and the green revolution was not created just by punjabis. A lot of people from all over had important contributions. I am a person of Indian origin first and foremost...
Btw, I think what sitaram was alluding to was govt procurement prices which are often higher than world prices. They are trying to provide livelihood to farmers. At the consumer level, the same food items are given away free or at very subsidized prices. Govt bears the loss.
