depending on the nature of such a rebellion one can call this fella an anarchist, rebel , resistance fighter, insurgent ( not to be mistaken with the male of the species in a coupling )a mutineer..terrorist or what have you..
His thinking seems at the time very radical because it is not one that is acceptable in that situation as mentioned above... But to him it makes total sense .....he is willing to lay his life for this cause he believes in or face dire consequences too.. 😉
Take for instance an hypothesis where you disagree with a mod on this forum ... what would u do ?
aaa) agree with the mod ----mods always right--left side rebels
bbb) disagree with the mod ....face the resultant wrath --true

ccc) disagree with the mod and offer why u disagree either on pm or in the thread --always disagree mean warnings 😉

ddd) take a vacation read up on rebel ....take an inspiration from shivajior che guevera and return back emboldened and take on that odd mod again
😆 😆 😆 ---Propose a mod 😛 😉
see ? multiple choice answer bro 😆

Good topic Believe.

We have tendency to always consider that "rebel" is always negative. Sometimes people standing up for themselves can also be rebellous at times. I don't think rebeling necessarily is negative all the time. Anyone who oppose leader's view could be rebelling ...be it at work, home, country, world. I personally think rebelling or standing up for right and truth is not bad, but rebelling just to create havoc or get attention or for your personal benifit is not good.

well-said Sowmyaa !
  • Rebel against injustice / evil = good
  • Rebel against norms that benefit normal life of an individual and others = questionable / wrong

Here is a list of rebels and you'll know who are good and who are bad

  • leaders who fought for our freedom- rebels against the Brit empire
  • Drs. M. Curie, , R. Franklin and others would not have immesely provided to science, unless the rebelled against the system and continued to work segregated from men, in dungens of basement called labs for females - rebel against men who undermined female intellect
  • teenagers / even elders for that matter partying reckless, indulgingdrugs, unprotected sex and other lawless actions- rebel against old-fashioned family!
  • Drunken driving - rebel against the DMV!
  • Murderers= rebel against the law
  • Political rebels - fresh examples in Assam
  • IF addicts like me = rebels against family duties and happiness

Since there is not "one category" of rebels, they can be good/ questionable / bad

There are two characteristics of a rebel

1. They always go against the accepted norm or authority.

2. They are basically good people with good intentions endorsed by a large section of people belonging to that country or continent.

So by these two premises none of you stated individuals are rebels rather most of them are simple criminals...😊 by your logic living people are rebelling against the dead is it?😆

If you dont change perspectives a rebel is always negative... he is going against a norm unless there are lot of supporters endorsing his/her thinking you cant categorize them as rebel...😊

Sometimes people do stand up against authority for what people think as the personal benefit. When this becomes the norm, they are not termed rebels anymore but trendsetters.

Tishaji dont glorify bohemian thinking.. next time a homeless criminal attacks you - your idea of relative thinking will make you really yield to him...more out of your beliefs than fear,... since according to you he would be a rebel with a right legitimate perspective...😛.

Its ok if you dont believe in right or wrong.. but if you do.. there cant be opinions.. and perspectives on those.. When Iraq attacked Quwait people didnt wait and try to see the right perspective of Iraq... Sometimes calling a spade a spade is the way to go....😊
