Some come for only a short time then go home to care for parents/to marry, etc. But you are right. I think I mostly meant the people who are here for education with plans to go home. Maybe people lie to me 😆 but I've have lots of people tell me they don't plan to stay, just work, make money, and go home. I agree with your advice though marry a citizen (for at least 24 months) and you're set. 😉

It depends upon what you want. For me, my family and I wasn't ready to face this year-to-year visa process that we have to face these days to get a GC. So despite GC being in progress, we migrated to Canada because we want stability over 100% facility.

Life is a bit more difficult in Canada (in terms of cost of living, but lot peaceful. My feedback. 😎

My friend's younger brother, Came to Canada couple years back and already on way to become Citizen. It's been 4 years that he is telling us to apply for PR there.

I have heard many H1B applicants are moving to Canada. I don't know if I can manage cold weather when I am so frustrated during winter in Northeast.

I went to US for a couple of months and it was I dont know... kind of unpleasant for the lack of a better word... I mean, i dont think I can live their full time... the lifestyle is not for me

All those who like lifestyle here are people who has settled here for long. Have got their families over here and no immigration hassle.

Another batch who likes the lifestyle are newcomers. New York City baby. (It mostly wears off after initial excitement)

Then there are like me. Non-immigrants. Stuck in the process. Struggled & Worked hard to create a life here. Aur lage pade hai Visa chakkaro mein.

My cousin did the same as you. Came, stayed for a month or so, decided this is not for him. Went back and already settled. I always tell anybody coming here, decide initially coz once you starting to get comfortable, You are always in two minds.

I kind of always knew I am not cut out for that kind of life.. But my brother got a job there so everyone was like you gotta give it a shot.. And I did.. Luckily for me, even my husband is not keen on moving west so now I am well settled here.. Though I do plan on going to London in future so there is that..
My bro is not very happy with the lifestyle there either though😆

You are right. Getting Citizenship is lot easier here. And I like the competition of apologizing here too, what a contrast to USA life 😆. Yes, lot of my friends are moving here due to their H1B issues. I did not want to wait till I was gonna have any issue because you never know with the clown president's directives what's gonna hit and when 😆. And that too specially after having a kid. 😕

Everything's more or less similar to California/USA here, except the winter. I miss Calif winter so bad 😭. I liked Toronto weather when I wasn't having a kid enjoying my life blah blah but now with kid and his runny nose it's not funny anymore 😆 Also, overall Canada/USA, I really miss getting a househelp here. I wasn't brought up in a way that I was gonna manage everything on my own. But now I am made to. 😭 Sometimes my hubby says he is not sure if he got married or adopted a kid. 😭

So many people here in the forum are older than I thought...
Weird coz I don't think I can ever argue with someone older than me in real life with the vigour I do here.😆
