i cant believe the crap some of you ppl have said!... like "i hate gay ppl", and "no they should not be in the same society". what is this ppl... who are we to decide what is right and wrong. and the fact is that thr are alot of things that the bible, or our parents tell us are wrong but we still do it. and i dont think its a choice that you can be gay or not to be gay. i believe that you are born with it. and guys, gay ppl are humans also. so i dont think any1 has a right to judge any1.

i'm not trying to say that ur opinion is wrong, but saying i hate gay ppl is like saying i hate straight ppl...its stereotyping a whole dynamic group of ppl who share only one fact in common, that they prefer partners of the same sex.

That's not cool, I don't think you should call anyone ... That's very disrespectful. Would you like anyone calling you...whatever!

I know someone who is a Jehova's witness and they're certainly not ...

Sorry for point this out to if you got offended.

sorry to say missy ... I don't care if anyone calls me ....Say what you want for I won't be offended when it comes to Religion because Religion will be only Religion to me. Those are your beliefs and these are mine. I have witnessed Jehova Witnesses and they even tried to bribe me some white chocolate just so I could accept their pamplet and think over what contains in it.

ahhhh... another typical answer to hear ....You obviously don't understand what "Gays/Lesbians" have contributed to our Corporate Society. And if you are a guy then your probably wearing something that orginated by a gay man's design. Believe it or not son. *pats*

As for the rest you homophobes ... it really saddens me to think that gay/lesbian lifestyle is sooo incredibly dull and disgusting. You people have been watching way too much of MTV is all I can say~! You people are "fixated" on the bads Gays/Lesbians do not the good.

REALITY CHECK KIDS!

British rulers imported a virulent homophobia into India. They enshinred it in Section 377 of the Indian Pencil Code, which criminalize same-sex relations says . Hey if your thinking I'm doing too much then think what you want for any debate isn't a debate w/o any sign of proof or documentation.

It really saddens me to think some of you are actually being reluctant to even hear out what the Gay community has to say and offer to our economic society.

Well, your free to believe what you want ... I'm not going to force you into anything but I believe what Ruth Vanita has to say. "Hindu scriptures and literature unlike Christianity and Islam, Hinduism's perpestive of same-sex relationships is human and accepting."

Well kiddos if you really want to understand and at least be considerate to your own culture (meaning hinduism for all you hindus) and the Gay community then check out this website => https://gaytoday.badpuppy.com/garchive/reviews/082100re.htm

ahhh now look at what Martin Luther King Jr. once said ...
"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

oh and I'm Punabi by the way ... and no matter how much this has disturbed yet amused me ... I have seen two Sikh men holding hands together and when they saw me they completely let go of their clapsed hands and almost looked ashamed to see what I had witnessed.

And I'll be truthful here I used to be dead on homophobic but after seeing so much hate and discrimination going on ... I just couldn't bare it anymore~! It really is depressing .... T___T ... not what Gays have gone threw but what people have to say about it.

ok well i am not a guy...they are just not accepted in my religion besides i personally dont like them.... i have a life i dont watch MTV. i dont think i offended anyone. lot of people on this forum hate me already so if i said i hate certain part of our stupid society, i have done nothing wrong...the whole concept of being gay is stupid and abrupt...we are ought to stay straight since we born straight....bible and quran mentioned extreme punishment against gay people, so my next point is that both books always consider a couple as man and woman. look at bright side people, Adam and Eve or Adam(AS) and Bibi Huwwa were couple as man and woman

Take a chill pill folks.

This is a very interesting and controversial topic, but I would like it if we could discuss this in a mature manner.

Once more, since this is a formal debating forum:

1) Do not personally attack another person just because they do not agree with your opinions

2) Do not make attacks against a community of people (including homosexuals/lesbians)

3) If you make statements, back them up using some evidence or a reasoning instead of just saying "______ Sucks!" or whatever.

4) Make your point by quoting someone else and respectfully stating WHY you disagree with them.

Thanks,

IF Development Group

okay everybody that bought a lot of emotions to surface. i think it is wrong to condemn anybody on the basis of thier sexual orientation. though i have never encountered a gay/lesbian person in my life yet and i must admit that the thought makes me a little uncomfortable(blame it on years of conservative and shielded upbringing), i assume that they have same aspirations, dreams and feelings as any straight couple.

i have often wondered why gay marraige is an issue for starters. marraige basically is the social acceptance of a monogamous lifelong intimate relationship between two people.generally speaking it is nothing more a certificate to announce the relationship publically, ensure that the rights of both parties are protected , ensure the parties are commited(there are penalties for defaulting or cheating) to each other and bestow certain benefits(tax, security, legally accepted procreation...etc). the major objective of marraige has always been to ensure commitment and safe/secure life for kids born in the relationship. since with same sex marraiges have no issue related to procreation....the issue of marraige should not be as big deal as is made out to be.why oppose gay marraige at all....

this brings me to the next issue...that of religious acceptance.religion is there to promote goodwill and prosperity in a society.it provides a basic guideline of how we should conduct ourselves for the betterment of the mankind.also sex, and humans were there long before things like marraige and religion came into being.also religion changes its outlook with the current issues. for example women were regarded very highly in ancient forms of hinduism, ;later they became almost doormats (this was when the subcontinent was under countinuous attacks from foriegn powers and safety of women was an issue); now again they seem to be getting the old glorious status.the ancient forms of christainity and islam have almost vanished /have very few followers.hence to quote religion on every single issue is very foolish.there are times when religion ignored certain issues(simply bcoz they were either too mundane or rare). if it comes to choosing in between humanity and religion , humanity should win every single time.incidentally there are multiple examples of gay relationships in ancient worlds(egyptians and roman were known for thier bisexuality).i am not sure which but if i remember right , one of the pagan egyptian god had gay relationship(it has been a while since i brushed up on egyptian mythology). alexender the great was rumoured to have a male lover as were a number of ancient persian royalties.certain catholic priests have been accused of same sex abuse(so much for following religion)i am ready to believe that hinduism might be more flexible(i am not sure but anyways) than islam or christainity on the issue(the reason lies in thier reason, place of origin and the social structure at the time). hinduism has its roots in ancient pagan beliefs and was a part of a very prosporous thriving society, unlike islam and christainity which grew in difficult war ravaged areas in oppressed societies with very little resources(the need to provide a social structure, drum up some semblance of peace and unity and increase in the size of the followers through procreation was the basic ). also certain animals are unisex(do you think god judges them for it ).

bottomline is very simple

1)gays have as much right to be happy and pursue marraige as straights regardless of thier sexual orientation(so dictates basic commandment of humanity)

2)they don't judge you so why should you judge them(second commandment of humanity)

3)the most basic and trusted religion is humanity so it should be given priority over all other beliefs(third commandment of humanity)

4) i am sure god and nature has many other criterions to judge a human other than sexual orientation.(fourth commandment of humanity)

feel free to add more...i apologise if i have in advertantly hurt anyone's religious belief(i do realise religion is a very sensitive issue and open to different interpretations).
