Regardless of what, when, where and how it began, we are here and the place is now isn't it? The past surely has some great importance but the present and future is what really counts. :)

Here and now are relative. Your "here" and your "now" are not the same as my "here" and my "now" so when you say "we are here and the place is now", I have a problem associating with it.

Even in my "now", I am not aware of it. I am only aware of the past.

One likely scenario that not many consider is death by magma. We have a bunch of volcanoes, that could erupt causing significant climate changes resulting in extinction of life (the complex life at least, if not the simple unicellular life)

Yes we are pretty exposed in so many ways.

It could be stress, diseases, virus, war, terrorists etc.

Global Warming if not controlled could spell our end too:

Fair enough. Life as in shape of humans did began. If you see a river flowing you cannot tell when did it start, where did it start and how did it start but the fact that it is there means it did begin. Similarly we know we are born as a result of interaction of two individuals. What is not clear is when, where and how the first event happened.

The irony is that no Kim Jong or a fringe Mullah ever dropped an A bomb on anyone. Now this does not mean they can't. What it means is that there is potential for the world to end in this manner.So i agree.

If I had to select one, I would select 1) No end.

One, because you would never know if the world were to end .. 'coz you won't be alive to see the rest of the world destroyed!

Two, there would be an end only if there were a beginning, and last time I checked on the "Where did we come from" thread, that was still under debate! 😆

Three, if you had asked will human race end .. I would say maybe.. if our living conditions are threatened. But I have a feeling as threats arise, scientists will find ways for us to survive!

Four, if we knew why the world was created, why we humans were created .. then maybe we could say that maybe we will be destroyed once the purpose is complete. But then people die without living their lives fully, in accidents, crimes, natural disasters. 🤔 So I guess it is possible for the end to happen before the purpose was complete, if at all there was a purpose.

Five, if that were to happen.. ie. if the world were to end, what will remain.. ? Would the elements survive... or will there just be .. umm.. nothing? That means we must have started from nothing.. and that's still under debate too 😆

If at all this world were to be destroyed, another world has to be created .. so maybe we will all get moved to that world.. so yeah, I don't think there will ever be an end.

But that said, its best to live life as though the next moment might be your last .. that way if at all you realize you are dying, you won't at least have any regrets! 😛

Few comments about your different options ..

2) Not enough to destroy the entire world

3) Maybe, I always thought it was possible to detect such meteors earlier on, until the recent one that hit Russia.

4) Not sure if it would destroy the entire world though.. but one day all those icebergs might melt and flood the oceans.. hopefully some day everyone will realize how important it is to be good to nature .. and talk and do something about climate change!

5) I doubt nations would be that stupid ..

6) Not possible.

7) Not possible. Already same sex marriage couples have kids .. gay men adopt (or use surrogacy) and lesbians use IVF.

8, 9, 10 .. I would still be alive then .. 'coz I wouldn't watch those movies!

Sorry for weird answers.. not sure what I am typing.. too exhausted to even think! 😳

Let me leave you with this question, doesn't our world as we perceive it end every time we go to sleep .. do you know when you sleep if you will ever wake up?

If there is end of the world why we fear!! all will be ending with it...Do you think you will be standing on an island and the whole world will end, leaving you alone? 😆if it ends, it ends... It does not create any problem because we will not be here..I believe life and death is a continuous circle...every creation that goes into a decreation and vice versa...😊
