wow...superb points.

- the use of computers
- maybe its lack of interest and this is just a reaction,
i am sure both are reasons in case of some.
@truth: if you are referring to me then i am NOT declaring anything. However I disagree as I think one should inform people who they have interacted with for many years. If not on forum then through PM. That is called mannerims. On the other side are real people and they deserve this. I never appreciate those who leave suddenly. I dont like that. However I think they should stick to it. lol
@epiphany. thanks
have to work now. getting late...byee.. lol

Back with another fitting song eh 😆

For me, it's not the forum that's particularly addicting as there is no show I'm watching at the moment...but there are people on IF I've met here, and some who I know off IF as well that really make me visit. Most of my posts have been made in chat clubs where there is regular, non-stop banter among a few people that have become good friends.

More than the forum, I think it's the internet I'm addicted to. Nearly any type of work I need to do is done on the computer and when you're sitting on a laptop doing work for hours, it's just easy to take a break and start browsing random things. You won't believe some of the videos I've come across because I was wasting time browsing YouTube.

And then there is the ease of access we have to the internet. It's like if I'm out, I've got my phone to browse with. Working at the library, I've got my laptop. Working at the office, there's a desktop. Watching tv, there's my ipad. Just too many mediums to be connected, how many times can we resist 😆

@McNinja I know!!

The Internet is glorious and a curse!! 😭

If you really want to wean yourself off IF put away your laptop, smart phone, tablets etc and go and do real life, useful things 😆.

I should really follow my own advice...

You think that ll work ? ...I doubt if the addiction is that easy to get rid of ..Cause I know of a person who keeps coming here even after his death ..

I have tried several times to go away but then came back. Though I dont have those reasons to come back anymore to be honest I am still unable to leave. Its not like I have any friends that I talk to. Its mostly time pass.
Is farewell to forum possible?
Will you be able to stay away?
What is that hold you when you decide to leave?
How will you deal with that if you had to leave?

Any habit that becomes a force, a dominating force over you...past few years am here in IF...In real life there's 100s of serious things there then dont take virtual world so seriously,am not taking anything seriously here,simply to make it clear that you are not supposed to take me seriously either... Laugh about me, enjoy me,Gali me, rejoice in me bt for God's sake, don't be serious! Seriousness has kills the +ve energy..dont give your 100% in virtual world...give few hrs or mins in virtual world to relx or to divert your mind..,then no need to think about farewell.
Cheers!

I think it is easier for younger people to leave the forum as they are often away from their computers or busy falling in love. Ha Ha 😆😆😆
I used to be very regular, but only drop by for some fun when at work. that is because I use my iphone for everything these days. I use the computer only at the office.
But there are some who leave the forum and reincarnate with a "New" identity.

now before some think that I am suffering from sleepless night because of the forum then thats NOT the case. lol. The point of these lines is that sometimes we know what needs to be done, we know the answer but we still cant do anything. For example some know smoking is bad for them but they cant help it. Its addiction. Its lat. We have solutions for other addiciton. What is the solution for this addiction?
I use to be online more before but I have deliberately managed myself and done well. Now I post less compared to few years back. However getting rid of it is not easy. Maybe the answer lies in type of person and his or her nature. I have seen almost everyone either 1) not leave or 2) come back.

Yes to overcome one addiction, we need to find another. Just like in wanting to forget an old "lover" we must find a new lover to take her place .😆
So take up other addictions like TV, or computer games etc ...😆
But it is fun to pen some words once in a while and suprising how the fingers can move at the speed to thought. Sometimes I think slower than what I can type...
Yes Maharaj, you self banned yourself many times to stay away from IF. But I had the same problem too at one time, because I loved to chat on the forums and find reasons to spam, spam, spam...

When you don't have anything in your daily life that needs most of your time you will keep coming here whenever you get a spare time. I don't think one can spend more than a 30 minutes here if you have a professional life. (except those who comes during office hours or may be its only me who can't afford it).
If you really wish to say bye you need to try finding some other social circles be it virtual or real for time pass. It is better if you find real one where you can spend some quality time.
There is no way in today's time that we can keep ourselves away from the net. For one thing or the other we have to come online. So its really hard not to click the bookmarked page.

1. It is possible. I have said farewell to some forums past.

2. Yes, I just need to get occupied with something else more important.

3. To be honest I don't know what keeps me on the forum. Most of my friends are gone or mostly inactive. I think I suffer from internet addiction.

4. I'll just have to rehab myself. When I studied for GMAT, I was too busy taking practice tests to think of IF. When I was in Brazil, I forgot that such a thing called internet existed. When time comes, I know I can let go.
