How much do you think can a mind influence? Is it only limited to an individual, a small group or something much bigger?

Can a mind control the physical things around a person? When a machine/ instrument can manipulate energy from one form to another, can't the greatest machine of all, a human body and it's mind do that?

While reading one of the other topics here, the black magic one, I remembered a person I met who controlled all the 5 elements. He changed the course of wind and altered the flow of water. A little more complex 'magic' than pulling out coins and birds.Definitely it is a grand display of physics and psychology. But still it is a possibility of only few human minds, hence we name it divinity or devilry. It is an art to influence people into seeing something in the way you want them to see it. And that requires extraordinary mental strength and clarity of mind.

Anyways, thoughts on how much can one mind control if it wants to???

To control the mind we have to control the tongue 😆
Joking ...but basically there is nothing impossible for the mind if it is properly trained.

If a person speaks the truth all the time yes he gains power.
Control of tongue includes what we eat as well .
The basic requirement is Yama and Niyama and I think this is the most difficult part.
Dhyana and Samadhi follows easily if we have the basic qualities.
In speaking of Truth I believe they do not mean accurate reporting but more so seeing the Truth of all things; Right Understanding.

Personally, I am yet to discern whether it's my emotions that rule my state of being or the strength of my mind that influences what I do or what I want to do. I am confused.. sometimes it's my emotions that overtake me and sometimes my mind, and sometimes, my it's my emotions that add fuel to my mental strength!!
I think it's somewhere beyond the mind... that makes the mind more stronger and that makes it more powerful. Some sort of energy I guess.

We are often misled by the mind and temptations can be strong.
How often do we listen to the Buddhi or intellect ?
When ten pieces of hot puri and aloo is placed before me, I always have enough space in my stomach for them !😆

Actually mind is mess with collection of matters...its gives us 100s of interpretations/ideas of same matter...some ppl cant wrap their mind around it, so they used their mouth/action instead... everybody need to have an open mind, but not so open that your common sense falls out.

The mind can be a friend or a foe, it does seem separate from us and has a mind of its own. Mind is often said to be a bundle of desires.
Once the "mind" controls us we "lose" ourselves , we become like puppets and only realise our mistakes later.

As they say, "Mind can be your greatest friend if you master it or your biggest enemy if you become it's slave". To master the mind one must probably grow to control senses, emotions and impulses. Is this balance called conscience or consciousness? Once you are not a slave to any emotion, your mind becomes clear, so does your conscience. This kind of confuses me sometimes, is conscience a part of mind? Is it the 'right' part of your mind which warns you about the 'wrong' part of your mind which is succumbed to extremities?
