I guess what baffles me is Bangalore Indore, Mumbai Indore, Agra Indore. Is it a Round Trip Service? Do they function like rental cars, pick one up in Indore, ride her to Mumbai and then drop her off in Bangalore?

If a film had to rely almost entirely on its visuals than the writing and acting then it's not something I'd be very interested in I think.

And besides I thought Avatar's "world", as beautiful and charming as it was, was just a rehash of all the Walt-Disney magic lands with the eye-popping imagery and colors and lack of realism. The world created in King Kong, Lord of the Rings, etc were so much bigger and grander in scope, dimension and realism!

I'm sure I would have loved the eye-popping colors and objects hitting at my eyes had I been able to watch it in 3D, but I am also pretty damn sure that's the only thing I'd love.

Storytelling is an art. The same plot can be made or broken by the way the person tells us. Writers use words, while in movies visual is an important part. Avatar had a decent plot, but the main aim was to provide a revolutionary visual immersible experience. Transformers come into mind as a good visual treat but mindless plot, but Avatar was good IMO.

Avatar was more focused on what the technology can achieve. Of course the movies you named had great cinematography and beautiful location, but creating such complex alien environment, and having it digitally rendered, mixed simultaneously with CGI, motion capture, and live action was an amazing feat. And the 3D just allowed you to be there instead of watching from distance. That's why Cameron waited so long, he had the script since the 90s but he felt the technology fell short. So, he waited for the technology to catch up so that it can capture his true vision. It was about bringing the people to a world he had imagined.
