Madhuri Dixit...Overrated?

I saw an article of Madhuri Dixit today on IF and posted this comment. However Ijust wanted to know your opinion on this.

Now... before anyone jumps down my throat considering me a hater, let me just clarify...As a child and also in my youth, I was the biggest Madhuri fan ever. Her dance, smaile, acting, grace...I was all 'fida' over her. I was super sad when she decided to leave India and get settled in the states.

I was even super excited for her comeback in Aaja Nach Le...but after watching her in that movie and as a judge in a reality dancing show, I feel like she has lost her charm. In her earlier times she used to be this humble, down-to-earth girl next door...but now all I can feel is a hint of arrogance in her behavior.

I am tired of her fake "oh-I-am-from-America-so-I-can't-speak-Hindi-properly" accent. Like seriously? You were born and raised in India...just because you went to America for few years, you can't even speak Hindi properly? and it's not even her accent but it's her overall pompous behavior that drives me nuts!

She, at one point, was truly a diva of bollywood. But now I honestly think that she should consider retiring. You were graceful and amazing once but now it's just time you retire gracefully and stop acting like you are still that young beautiful dancer.

And omg don't even get me started on her good-for-nothing husband! The guy is such an idiot, it's not even funny. Tagging along with her to all the Bollywood functions...whether be it awards or someone's funeral in his fake English-Hindi.

Seriously, it's time people stop praising her like she is some goddess.

Okay hun, relax... Madhuri lived in America for 10 years. She can still speak Hindi. Oh, and about her husband, he was born and raised in America, like me. I feel for him; I don't speak proper Hindi, and I don't think he *has* to be able to, either. And he'll obviously tag along; Madhuri is his freaking WIFE. I bet nobody in the industry minds.

Oh, and BTW, "the States" should be capitalized. :)

I did see her in one of the recent award shows where Mr. Shahruk Khan was flirting with her and passing some double meaning comments and among the audience was one gentleman who was enjoying all that. Later someone told me he was her husband. lol. Of course it was all "fun" lol. anyway i dont care. It is their personal life.

Since she has now retired I will call her outdated not overrated lol. Example of overrated would be someone like saifoo.

Madhuri Dixit deserves all the attention and accolades given to her. She is and was a good actress. She was not overrated like many are being done now. Just because her accent has changed and her husband is accompanying her to events, her contribution to bollywood doesnot change. She can work as long as she wants and is capable of, why should she retire. Art knows no age, and if big B and other veterans are still portraying different roles, Madhuri too can do it. Her comeback was not a great one but it is not the end either.

ps : I agree this topic is more suitable for bollywood forum. :).
