@red - Yess totally agree with u. Smoking is a greater health hazard than drinking!! It blows away organ by organ starting with the lungs :( :(
Alcohol blows away organ by organ as well in the long term if taken in excess. It's a misconception that it just messes up the liver and pancreas. Addiction to booze can can have effects on the kidneys, nervous, and cardiovascular systems, to name a few. So that right there throws open a whole trap door of many conditions.
That doesn't mean it is bad and should be banned outright. The same goes for smoking. The latter just gets talked about a lot more because people get disgusted by the smoke, and because the effects of cigarette smoking seem more morbid and graphic. Ever seen a liver affected by cirrhosis? It's a horrible sight.

I know imprisonment is extreme but that is a wake up call.
We could alternatively say
"Smokers will not be given any employment in Govt Offices and larger corporations"
"Smokers will not be given a place in Colleges and Universtities"
"Job vacancies, smokers need not apply"
Your posts are getting more ridiculous by the minute, and it's obvious now you have a prejudice. If human beings were to listen to everything everybody said, they wouldn't even be humans any more, but finely tuned robots.
Of course people have the right to 'not bother'. They're all blessed with something called free will, which in turn manifests as the watered down basic human rights The world isn't some giant boarding school where a select few can roam around with batons in hand and school people on what's bad and what isn't. Thank God for that. Otherwise we'd have people like you operating as the totalitarian thought police.
Oh and if that education/job vacancy rule were to be applied, BTW, that guy right there in your AV wouldn't have been... you know, in your AV. So yeah, let's increase the rates of illiteracy/poor education/unemployment coz hey! Smokers are not only most susceptible to cancer, but they
are the cancers of society.
And in any case, what makes you think smokers would even admit to the habit if they were questioned during an interview/enrollment process? You'd think they'd be sensible enough not to have a drag bang before a big day, no? Or do you propose the formation of an anti-smoking SWAT team to bust open the doors of candidates and search their homes for signs of tobacco?
I know I sound very caustic but when there's nothing more than disgust and random observations to back up your opinions on the topic, this is pretty much what you will get from people like me.
edit/P.S.: Not all smokers reek, BTW ;) That's why you have mints, hairsprays, sanitizers, and perfume.
