😭 Is it a crime to worry about ourselves more than others?! A lot of people are selfish in real life and have a hidden agenda. Sadly, even some of our family and friends can take advantage of us. Whether it is money, career, or other facets of life, you got to be smart and watch out for your best interests!

Please share your thoughts.

Its not crime to think about ourself more than others. There is no harm if we give priority to ourself more than others but our selfishness should nt harm others. We r free to think abt ourself but nt at the cost of harming others.

As with most things, there is no right or wrong when it comes to something like this...I could probably argue both sides depending on the situation!

A common perception is to think of somebody who puts themselves first as selfish but charity does begin at home I say! Gotta care for yourself to be able to care for or about others! Even airlines ask you to put on your mask first before assisting the kid you may be traveling with...😆!

Anyway...some food for thought G-Man...
My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute.

I was going to refer to Ayn Rand. Personally, I disagree with her philosophies. I'm more of a utilitarian. Whichever option results in greater good for the majority.

For example in the airline case looking after the child first can result in the child and you dying. Putting your life vest and oxygen mask first may let you save not only yourself but the child and others. It is more utilitarian to put yourself first.

But if a selfish interest can end up causing significant losses (emotional or quantitative) to others, but selflessness can end up with net benefits to society, then you ought to put others first.

Although, the tricky part is figuring out the net benefits of situations.

You cannot really be more worried about others than yourself.

It is cakewalk stuff, getting me worried about my folks and buds but you see, I get worried about them because they are very closely associated with me and any damage to them in any possible way shall alter my life also. Hence, the worrying in real. This is the logic, I believe. We love people, and there the ones we worry about, but somehow, indirectly, we are safeguarding situations and people for ourselves. Makes any sense?

So, yeah people are bad and mean and it's imperative that one should do what's in their best interests and be safe.

NOT AT ALL.
I worry about myself, about my parents, about my career and about everything that is dear to me, and everything I need.
I got one life..I gotta live for myself 🤔 I always feel like I'm alone in this world and gotta stand on my feet against anything, hence I worry about myself and am self-relaint as much as possible. I dont trust anyone, sometimes, not even my parents..annd I feel guilty about it :(
Also, I feel like one can only love himself like no other, but I also believe in speading the love..without expecting any from others...WAIT, I'm going off-topic 😳
Yeah, so.. I feel like no one will be there for me and that I cannot depend on anyone. Humans are complex creatures and I cannot be sure who'll be there for me till I die.
But I am against taking advantage of anyone or even depending on anyone - because, come to think of it.. today, I can take advantage or depend on someone, but what will I do when I cannot depend on them tomorrow?? It's important to worry about yourself and be independent.. self-relaint. Hope I'm making some sense 😳
So, one needs to worry about his life and himself. Afterall, he's the one who has to live the whole life. Call me selfish, I'll be more than happy.. 🤔

What is the need to stop worrying?...😉
I think too much concern with oneself is a sort of diease...some situation I feel to worried about others also stupidity...a child worries abt his teddy bear n a grown up laughs at it...cos ,he is worrying abt the teddy bear which is just a toy, such a small thing… he should worry about great things...I just wanna say, don't be a dog chasing ur own tail...chase ur own tail and go mad...But yes worries are there, naturally..in lifes complicated phenomenon, worries are bound to be there...I think more we become concerned with them, the more it matter...😊

there is no right or wrong!
however, i will say this for the topic.. everyone can live for themselves, there is nothing to boast there.. it is a state of being.. being a productive member of the society is important.. it's harder to think about the greater good and put others before yourself.. in my opinion, people who are capable of doing good for others and do not, because their own wants far outweigh their needs, do not add any value to the society as a whole (except their families and friends)..
i am not a better person at all, though i try to be.. however, i am still quite selfish but one must have hopes that we can do better and at least try!
