Chickens, as we know them, have eggsisted for only a couple of millennia whereas snakes & turtles, fish & dinosaurs have been laying their clutches since long before we engineered any roads. Until chickens figure out how to talk with us, I'll never know why they cross the road although I surely know now that they come a distant second to The Incredible, Edible Egg!

hey, i like ur topic, but in all seriousness (not really), the scientific answer to that is that the egg came first, the egg was actually laid by a bird that wasnt a chicken at all, and somehow the eggs mutated and there were for the first time, a bunch of chickens! lol.

but my question is who was the first person to say "hey u see that chicken over there? i'm gonna eat the first thing that comes out of its butt!"
