What's in your future? We have ventured into the world of biotech where all our actions are controlled by our genes, from which our present determines our future! If we are able to find the genes which are responsible for our behavior, emotions, thinking, characteristic, dreams.. then who needs psychic reading anymore! Do we still believe in luck?

I am not caught on with the idea of mankind able to break the gene code to specific set of individualistic traits. The computational mechanism, deriving probabilistic algorithms - people are finding more and more ways of social networking, connecting with people and making the world...shrink.

Who has time for pure science anyway?

But then again if it IS the future, then luck still prevails. Irrespective of how "predictable" a human can become, evolution and adaptability still kicks in from time to time.

Though people may be using the social networks (through the Internet) they are not connecting in real. The physical essence of connecting to a real person is lost!

Aren't the people alike all over? They are caught in political correctness and refuse to look at stereotypes, patterns and the commonalities between humans. It's notion then needs to be adopted, for which taken into considerations that biotech can do the same.

IF genes can control our various behavioral pattern which can determine our present action, but how will they determine our future actions. Future is still mystery so any individual's reactions to some random future action will be mystery too. Till future is an unpredictable mystery, futures of luck and psychic reading is intact...

Agree, though I don't believe in luck cause luck is when preparation meets opportunity, so why can't we create this opportunities for our self! In the world of biotech the opportunities are condition which are applied to genes for when the condition matches and the actions are predicted, there fore future is predicted. How much of this is true, is again in the hands of the individual.

Fortune Telling, Feng Shui reading etc, whether right or wrong, is a lucrative profession. Humans generally want more n greed is blind too.

Greed leads you to blind but it's not blind cause you know what you want, and who does not want to know what the future holds?
