It's something that I know I would personally never be able to do. It's so easy to say let's forget about our differences and just get married..but then there will be times in the future where you will not be willing to make a sacrifice on certain issues and that's where most problems start. The way in which you get married is not such a huge problem..lots of people that are from different religions and decided to get married just choose to have a civil marriage and register their marriage in court. Others will follow both ceremonies, or quite often, we see the girl convert.

Also, everyone is different. Some have no problem leaving their religion behind because it may never have played such a huge part in their lives to start off with. I'm sure some people can make it work, I probably wouldn't be able to though.

see as an adult we can comprehend that both the ways are different ways of achieving the same goal but to get philosophical with a 4 yr old is absurd😕

That 4 years old grew up seeing their mom and dad worshiping different Gods in a different manner but still existing peacefuly. That 4 years old will be better prepared to understand unity in diversity when explained by his loving parents than a child who has seen only one way of worshipping. I really don't see any problem here. You don't have to tell the child that murti-pooja is "wrong" in islam but "right" in hinduism. You simply explain to the child that both religions preach peace and love and use different methods to attain the same end goal - being a better human being.
Why make every single thing lot more complex than it really is?

@ hindu4lyf : I really dont think it is easy to say lets our differences and get married. In fact statistics show that peopel who marry people from different races and relgions have a LOT of challenges. I am currently dating someone who is a different religion and race than me so I know its hard, especially as we get closer to marriage, even though we are luckier than most other mixed couples cause our parents are okay with it and support us. But I do agree that everyone is different and it comes down to indivuals and their ability to communicate. I think communication is really the key for mixed couples between themselves and their children.
@ Gauri: very well put, I think it is extremely important to enforce commanlties and go on broader principles than on the details!

Hey how you doing? 😛

Savia, don't get me wrong..I don't doubt for a single second that there won't be problems when letting the family know and trying to persuade them to agree to the marriage. It's just that I think the problems get a lot worse in the future such as when it comes to raising children. A lot more compromises take place later on in the relationship and that is when things can get even worse. This is why a lot of people convert before their marriage, in order to avoid those problems in the future. Again, a lot depends on how in to your culture and religion you are to start off with and how open-minded your parents are about such things.

Anyway, I hope everything works out for you and your partner.😊

It's not Jayu! It's Jhootiji for you and any other girl that has an eye on him!😆
Nothing beats his Punjabi interview. That was HILARIOUS!😆

I think my heart skipped a beat when someone decided to update their status with 'Jay Sean is dead'..only to realise a couple of seconds later that she was talking about the campaign! All for a good cause though. :)

I love DD too! and I don't think Brij will be attending her wedding seeing as he is rotting in jail lol
