Right Cellphone Age

Whenever the person has an ability to pay the phone bill they should get a phone

It's a gadget, anyway. There's no specific age, I believe. We, teenagers tend to misuse it, alright but that does not mean we don't totally need it, right? And therefore, the right age according to me, is when a person needs it. There may be various different reasons for everybody.

For a kid with working parents, a cell phone becomes essential. If you are supposed to go far off to attend classes and stuff like that, you do need a phone.

I got my first cellphone final yr of highschool some think that wen u start highschool u need one for emergency etc nowadys its prob rite some get one wen they go to uni its varies

As for type of phone
Personally it shud be simple as a firdt fone u can txt n possible have a camera
But again it varies kids like music so want phone with mp3 internet etc

It all comes down to personal choice and wat parents allow

i got my first real mobile when i started college because during secondary school the mobile i used had no credit and the mobile i had for college was a sliding phone and i was at least 16 and now im currently got a LG touch screen phone

I think it varies, but kids younger than 12 do not need it in my opinion, it only becomes a vanity.

It all depends upon your parents wishes i guess.

I got my cellphone when i started high school...BUT with no texting and my parents expected me to not use any minutes -_-

Lets just say that i ended up texting and using minutes (i didnt know at the time that i couldn't text/use minutes---i found out WHEN i got in trouble). I got a warning and then my "friend' told me her bf had the same phone company and used my minutes...i got my phone taken away for a year...life sucked without it cause i actually needed it to contact my mom as she had to come from work to pick me up and she had to come late at times so she needed to call me to tell me when she's coming. The texting was my fault, so i know that it was right for them to take it away. As teenagers, we are most likely to misuse the phone...so the parent needs to be sure to discuss all the rules beforehand.


Lets just say that it's about time i got texting as i haven't misused my phone in ANY way for about 2-3 years. Since i cant use minutes/text, my only connection to friends is FB or meeting up in school.


The right age is definitely when the kid needs the phone...high school is probably best. I believe that the kid should have the phone without texting for a few months to see if the kid can handle the phone, and then they should get texting (if the parents can afford it).
