I think Blue ice must have mentioned how much should rules be followed and whether we should apply our own judgement and intelligence.

I have never really liked too much restrictions like what they do in the Army but some discipline is necessary. Still in following rules I guess intelligence has to be applied and we should know what is the intention of the rule.

Often rules are not perfect in themselves. Sometimes it varies between persons, cultures and countries too.
