So why don't you start a topic on the Gayatri mantra to discuss and tell us about it. I have heard many people say it has far reaching spiritual benefits etc. As a sceptic - I don't buy it much; but it will be a nice topic to discuss and see how it has benefit people saying it. 😊

Senor Summer, following is my task for you. Please give it a good thought, I have high expectations of you. Thanks.

One night, you go to sleep as usual and within minutes you are in deep sleep, almost unconscious. After some time (it could be hours, days, months, years or an eternity, nobody knows) something wakes you up. It is pitch black around you. You know your eyes are wide open but there is nothing in sight. You try to feel your way around but there is nothing to touch, not a single object. Your ears are trying to listen for the faintest of the faint sounds but it's eerily quiet. You can't even hear your own breathing; you can't even hear your own heartbeats. You try to scream but there is no sound. You try to run in all possible directions but it feels like you are running in an open space in the sky with no boundaries. You try to lie down but you don't feel any hard surface. Very soon you realize you are completely alone with not a single soul just about anywhere.

Soon you will realize you have lost your sense of time too. You can't tell how long it has been since you have woken up. It could have been hours or days or months or years. And very strangely, as strangely as everything else above, you have no recollection of any event other than the fact that you have woken up to this situation. You forgot your name. You have no memories of what happened before you went to sleep. Matter of fact, even words are hard to come by.

You don't feel hunger anymore. You pinch yourself to see if it is real and you don't feel anything. You don't have any bodily urges anymore.

This would be your state for what would seem like forever to you.

What next? (in at least a couple of paragraphs :)

Okay let me continue this story. Here is my mediocre effort:

Yes it seemed as if I had awakened into pure emptiness and yet something seemed amiss. I stood in the "now" and the never changing "forever". There were no more thoughts and it seemed that it had merged with the awareness itself. There was nothing around and yet I was me and I kept experiencing and repeating "I am".
I looked around and started searching to gain my bearing and soon realizied that I could look in all directions without turning my head. The farthest point was equally visible to me and distance lost its meaning.
The darkness that surrounded me suddenly turned into a bright blinding light, it was my will that could dictate what I wanted to experience. A sudden cool gust drifted my way and filled me with pure joy and drove me to estacy.
Standing upon the platform of the "now" and being "joyful" with no thoughts and fears I experienced being in the present, the mind and senses fell apart like wax placed in a furnace. I was now free from everything and feft "I am that which I am and there is nothing that which I am not". I could make myself a thousand "me" and yet remain connected to myself.

I understand your need to replicate yourself into all beings to experience all that there is but if you had no memory to begin with, how did you "know" what joy or fear (or for that matter any other emotion/feeling) is that you so wanted to experience? In other words, what is it that you wanted to experience when even words were failing you?

Yes indeed one of our greatest drawbacks is thoughts, memories and desires which like subtle strings bind us and being able to let it all go would be a huge step towards freedom. In truth are we not free all the time? ie our real self.
Joy and love is the nature of the soul it seems.

The idea of separation and being diferent is something alien to the soul. It arises from the experience of limited bodily awareness.

Yes, you are only aware of yourself at that moment and nothing else. The moment itself is frozen in time and the supposedly unlimited freedom to move in any direction without stumbling upon any hurdles, when the notion of everywhere itself is swathed in the darkest of the dark is as good as curtailing that freedom close to the point of zero and let the stillness of it all engulf you. But for how long is the question. How long could you and/or your awareness remain dormant?

It looks like creation would be inevitable after that point. Hmmm...

Thanks for your time Summer. Great job as usual.

A monkey grabbed some peanuts in a narrow necked jar and its hands got stuck. perhaps the secret is in letting it all go; which is much easier said then done.
🤔😍
Mr.K thank you for your thought provoking ideas. sometime it may be truer to say that we are all just reflections.
