The 21st century is filled with advancements unimagined and beyond the scope of thought of our forefathers. Man has progressed with leaps and bounds. However, these huge steps taken by mankind - are they taking us forwards or backwards?

Are we increasingly becoming more and more self-centred, selfish and conceited? Is this boost in brain power/ man power for the greater good?Modern Age - Is it progress in reverse?
Yup we are becoming more n more selfish / self centred. We have become too materialistic. Our actions destroyed the habitat of numerous species of flaura / fauna, who have equal right on earth as us. (We don't even consider the rights of our fellow human beings, so who's gonna care about other animal species..)
We don't know yet the exact magnitude of harm that we have brought to the environment because of our actions. We know for sure that temperature around the world is rising at a faster pace than before. Iceburgs melting, rivers getting dried up, large areas of land are turning into deserts (Africa).
Today if the war is for oil, tomorrow it's gonna be for water..
We have too much unwanted, wasteful production / consumption today. We need to limit production, as we need to save our resources and to reduce the hazards caused to our environment as a result of industrial activities.
We wont survive long, if we continue treading this path.
