How a Moderator should be?

Hi everyone,

This is perhaps the topic which is always present in the hearts and minds of all the posters in IF. How they would define a perfect moderator? ... the qualities, and personality, the attitude and activity.... . The qualities which must be present in the best moderator!

I would like to say, that its not about a particular moderator...but about how the ideal moderator should be.

Personally, I have posted in several sections of IF, and I feel that return_to_hades is the best moderator of IF (please dont think I am trying to oil her .. because its not the fact. This is what I truly feel from the core of my heart, and natural respect comes out for her from me. And I think I couldnt stop myself from mentioning my appreciation). She is very devoted to her work, and I have found her unbiased nature very welcome. She has a very good knowledge of debate, and knows how to make it more lively. Very helpful for any poster. I thank her for making this place a point of relaxation and not STRESS.

Hey guyz....would be interested to see your inputs. Even mods are welcome to give their inputs.

he or she must not be a terrorist by opening alternate ID to post on IF. Be brave enof to stand for your likes n dislikes as a Moderator

Now I guess I should write something 😊😉.

A moderator should be:
1. Kind.
2. Like a guide.
3. Helpful.
4. Intelligent.
5. Honest.
6. As unbiased as possible.
7. Should have knowledge about the room in which he/she is moderator.
8. Should have leadership qualities
9. Must explain her strict action. Must give chance for the accused to explain him/herself. After a consutation, if needed that warn him/her. After that, if there is no otherway, and the forum is unanimously negatively affected by him/her ... ban him/her.
10. A moderator should be as transparent as possible.

Lastly ... I recommend a thread in IF which can have a 'COMPLAIN/Suggestion' title. This thread can have complains or suggestions about moderators aswell.

We can start by finding out who has the best genes, then we should preserve them, and experiment with these seeds to create the "ideal moderator" :)

I agree with your list, I think we have a good moderator here, does her job well, (yes I'm trying to oil her)....but I think I could be better, jk lol

Anyways .. no I honestly had no intention to oil her. It an appreciation. I have never been afraid of anyone because I am sure of my honesty, thus I have no reason that would motivate me to oil anyone. That would be wasting my time. However, if I develop a respect for someone, I feel I should express it. Thats all.

Thanks for agreeing to my points 😳 ... you have any point to say?.... what kind of Moderator would be your dream moderator?

And if you were a moderator...what would be your first task/temptation😉??
