I don't understand why the Indian government is not making this a priority.......they are concerned about why Pakistan and China are making an arms agreement 😕 This is more serious. It is hindering citizens. Why don't they understand this? And what's wrong with these Australians? They made a big deal about it when Andrew Symonds was called a 'monkey', and they termed it as 'racist'😕 I call my sister a 'monkey' everyday. And when it comes to them saying racial slurs to Indians, it's nothing. At first, even the Australian government ridiculed this claim and they considered the conservation of wallabys, kangarroos and koalas more important. Again😕. India should definitely bring up the matter in the UN. Aussies think they are so influencial, but they don't realize that us Indians are not doing anything because we're peaceful and don't want no trouble. People always take advantage of that situation. Australians are the ones who are so violent and agressive. This is very important and certainly should be concentrated upon by the government.

I agree..in india also we can see different kind of racisit people but rare cases happen with tourist and forgien students... See the way they look at south indians. all south indians are called madrasis in a derogatory way. look at bollywood movies, the way they make fun of south indian languages, culture and eating habits. So do not be surprised that rest of world is well aware of indians and their habits....going to australia has become a fashion..students from india will queue up even for phony universities in foreign land..those travelling outside to behave approrately - No loud shouting & screaming, no staring, no littering , no impolite gestures etc. These might be acceptable in India , but in most of the developed world, a big No No.😊

When in US, our grad school was in the crime capital of the nation. some of us were funded by the parents, some with assistanship and some were funding ourselves.

Those who were funding themselves would often walk to school right through the heart of the "bad" neighbourhoods. Invariably once or twice a month someone or the other used to get mugged by the population of that area which was African American in general.
Different people had different reactions
For some that was the risk that can be taken to pay for the luxuries like a movie, a 6-pack etc and getting mugged was just a given experience needed for getting the "masters degree in life"
For some it was foolish/idiotic to put your life at risk for $30-60/month
For some back home it was blatantly racist that desis were getting picked
Having experienced all phases of life in a foreign country. I rarely use the term "racist" without knowing the actual circumstances. Crime yes, Racist maybe

actually, the problemn stems from the blood that flows in the veins of aussies....as someone rightly pointed out..the aussies are but descents of the hardcore criminals who had been deported to this island as part of punishment for having committed ghastly crimes......so its impertinent thta the blood of their infamous ancestors still runs fresh in their veins.
jokes apart, i think the major issue trhat these australians have with indians is jobs. indians are better academically , and hence manage to land the best jobs there, whereas the ausssies are left to fret .....this i think playts a pivotal role in the animosity of aussies towards indian students.

don't you find it funny that every indian students attack in australia is mostly in melbourne. i've been studying in brisbane for few years now and there has never been any report of indian students being attacked by australians. which made me wonder whether there are really racism or whether it is the aggressiveness of the indian students themselves.

the other issue that we need to consider is that, there are a lot of international students in australia coming from different parts of the world such as chinese students. there are no problems with chinese people studying in australia despite their number being greater than the indian students and still they were not attacked as the indian students were attacked. and if australia were not that safe and so racist towards the indian, then it will be better for the indians to look for another place to study or apply for permanent resident visa rather than australia.

If the same situation persists, and if immigration is affected, then in the near future, they will have to close down all the colleges leaving empty classrooms. Even their govt is aware of it....Another thing I suggest every Indian to work and live in a Western Nation for at-least 3 months. You will learn the good, bad and ugly sides of their and OUR culture and socio-economic conditions....If we check history or ausies....Hard Core Criminals of the past british colonies were taken to australia. Though these criminal reformed overtime, yet the genes are same...As australia as i have seen many of them are full of boozers, sex offenders, maniacs and drug addicts (see the number of australians getting capital punishment in singapore, indonesia, malaysia, thailand and other countries). As presented by the university bodies there is no high level of education in Australia. Asians are rather lured and duped in a billion dollar scam to come to australia for degrees that do not have any value in the world. Except the arabian gulf, no other region in the world has any value for australian education. Nevertheless the arabian gulf is the only place where australians do get some jobs. So why do asians ever go to australia/nz instead of academically better countries like US, UK, Germany, Japan. The answer is the cheaper education for a foreign degree. But if foreign degrees are meant to get a job, then asians are the biggest losers. As they wont be getting any jobs in the world.

The value of an australian degree is even less than an indian, singaporean or malaysian degree. Second reason is Indians who want to get citizenship at cheap price so that with australian passport they can get fat dowry in India (specifically sardarjis sorry no offense..check the dowry details other facts..), or higher pay jobs elsewhere in the world. But they have not realised that australians are not highly paid in the world, so why not spend some more money in other countries & be at par with elite...and<FONT color=#0066ff>am totally convinced that Australia is the most racist countty in the world today.<FONT color=#0066ff>What does Lleyton Hewitt and Tennis Australia have to say about safety ?????? and what does Andrew Symonds and Cricket Australia have to say about racial remarks and monkeys??? Spineless gutless Aussies , why do you pick on harmless students? These actions are a vivid demonstration of the convict genes in aussies.</FONT>....</FONT>I just wanna quote this saying...</FONT><FONT color=#0066ff>'A country is not made of land... a country is made of its people. -- by Unknown😊

just because your father or mother or your ancestor is a criminal, it doesn't make you a criminal. even though there are some suspicious or doubts whether they are a good person or not, they are still their own person and not what their ancestors are. if for example your father or your mother is a criminal, it doesn't make you a criminal as well. if your father or your mother are respectable and kind people, it doesn't necessarily make you a respectable and kind person. there used to be a very rich conglomerate who was a self made man and he was very rich that people used to say his wealth will not be gone even in seven generation, but none of his children can manage his wealth and they lost their so big of inheritance in less than a generation. being the son of a wealthy self made man businessman does not necessarily make you a good businessman. people are supposed to be seen by their own capabilities, abilities and characteristics instead of what their parents were like. and the percentage numbers of criminals in the united states are still higher than in australia, despite the fact that they were descended from missionaries and people with high education and moral background.

as for the university bodies there is definitely a high level of education in australia. there are big universities which rank still in the top 50 universities in the world such as the university of queensland, melbourne university and there are other universities which rank still in the top 50 in the world. they give good university education as well and the degrees from australia are highly valued some even comparing to the united states universities. and you are totally wrong if you say that the australia graduand will not get any jobs in the world. there is a lecturer from the university of queensland who is working in the tata motor company as a marketing advisor and that is only one of his jobs with a very big salary.

clearly you are wrong if you are saying that the value of australian degrees is less valued than the singaporean, malaysian or indian degrees. the value of australian degrees are even highly more valued than these countries degrees. they were more sought after than the countries that you mentioned above especially graduand from malaysia and indian universities.

and if you are saying that australians are not highly paid than clearly you are wrong or you are being prejudiced and bias in what you are saying. australia gives a pretty good salary and clearly higher salary than india and malaysia. i'm not sure with singapore, but it definitely higher than malaysia and india. perhaps the only reason why you are saying that australia does not give high salary is, australia government imposed high tax to workers especially those with high salary.

i don't think the problem stem from the blood that flows in the veins of the australian people. just because they were the descendants of some hardcore criminal it does not mean that they were criminals themselves. actually there are some australians people who are kind hearted and good and not racist despite the fact that they are the descendants of hardcore criminals.

i don't think that it is also due to the fact that indians are better than australians in jobs. otherwise the chinese will also be assaulted by the australians as the chinese are also very diligent and good at their work like the indians or perhaps even better.
