Diwali fireworks

fireworks remain an inseparable part of Diwali celebration inspite of the ongoing campaign to create awareness about its ill effects. whats ur take on this. Do U approve or disapprove & why?

@ Lalitha- I mentioned Diwali coz the magnitude of fireworks during Diwali surpasses that of any other festival. But I agree that if ill effects R 2 B considered than it wud remain the same 4 any festival. 😊

i've only seeen the July 4th fireworks.. i love them.. i want something similar on my wedding.. 😆😆..

but i have never played with firecrackers.. they are illegal here.. and i have yet to see Diwali in India.. .. I dont want them banned.. until i experience diwali in india..😳

I like fireworks :) and recently I thought of a new word for people who vehemently oppose the use of fireworks : "pollution nazis" 😛

C'mon its just a few times a year we celebrate with fireworks. Fireworks are the funnest thing to do. I mean I'm a tree hugger of sorts, but you got to indulge once in a while. There are many other ways to save the planet. Only thing I have started to be conscious about is avoiding the really noisy ones, its very difficult on some animals. Their hearing is too sensitive.

The most breathtaking display I saw is on 4th of July at Niagara falls (from the Canadian Side). The falls are lit up and the brides veil fall looks stunning - it as misty blue the year we went. Then they take the boats to the base of horseshoe and set off the fireworks - most spectacular fireworks I have seen.

Last week there was a fire in a Firecracker stall killing 38 people. In another incident a "rocket" got into a multistorey bldg, got stuck in a elevator, luckily none of the residents died, but 6 fireman died trying to save folks. Oh and this happens every year, atleast 50 odd people die celebrating Diwali

That reminds me this year there was a firecracker gun for kids, named "Kasab Gun"😉
