SHOULD THE DRIVING AGE IN INDIA BE LOWERED ...............OR SHOULD DRVING AGE IN THE U.S BE RAISED ????????????????

In India you can get a drving license at the age of 18 years only. When you turn in to an adult , thats when you can vote , marry , drive , drink and do all the things an adult can !!
Although thats the legal driving age , you often see kids below that age taking out there parents car and taking it for a spin !!

While in the U.S , you can get a license at the young age of 15 years ( although it has restriction). And a proper license at the age of 16 years !

Although , my question is also, do you think age - 15 - 16 years is too low for a person to drive . Thats the age when most kids aren't mature enough to be often rationale. Thats the age when you tend to go over the speed limit , and love doing a "dare" like driving with one hand , or hit and run , drink and drive ,etc etc !!

It is said , driving is not a right ..........but a priveldege , so use it judaciously !! Meaning , as a driver you are not in a wonderdfull machine that gets you from A - B point , but it can be a killing machine too if misused .!!

So lets have your opinion , SHOULD INDIA LOWER ITS DRIVING AGE .........OR U.S RAISE ITS DRIVING AGE !!!!!

in USA, you can get driving liscence at 16.
I think India has a GREAT age for getting a liscence.
At 18 you are more responsible and won't do dumb things and result in an accident

well...if u r responsible and capable license can be given at 15 or 16yrs.It is not necessary that at 18 the license will be given...coz u r adult and so on.
Once u think u can take the charge...i feel age is not a matter 😛 😛 😛

i agree... age does not really matter... what matters is matureness... u can be mature at 15, or 29... so i dont think that it really matters. Besides, more people get into accidents that teens.. (i will post the article) so why dont they ban them from getting a DL?.. i think that the driving age in india and america should remain the same.

I think that 18 is good age and I know that in Canada the government is thinking of raising the driving age of 16 to 18 by next year.

well 18 is considered mature but even at 18 u may not have the maturity. But at 18 if u do wrong u can be punishable....15 16 is too young to land up in cell. 😛 😛
so agree with LFR ....18 perfect 😛

i think US has to lower their driving age thing by like 2 or 3 years, because teenagers at the age of 16 who get their license have no clue about the world because they break speed laws n do accidents n drive uncarefully and i really think india has a great driving age-->18, because thats when u turn from teenager to adulthood and u get to know n understand things better

Their are still lots of accidents in India, so lowering the age limit won't do any good from my point of view. I think U.S.A. should make the age for getting a license higher, because most people are immature at 15 or 16 not that I'm saying that age always affects your maturity. Also, this will lessen the cars on the road becuase less people will be able to drive. From my point of view, 15 or 16 is WAY TOO LOW an age to drive. But what's your view?

I agree with you . And infact i like your point that it will decrease the number of cars on the road - that will lessen pollution too !!

Well said Indygirl, I started driving at the age of 14 a SCooty and got a driving license only now, so one can really bend rules in India and many are doing it. In Bangalore it is a perfect sight to see traffic cops asking school girls for their licenses and they come up with such weird excuses or just speed on, there have been so many accidents with underage drivers. I think with age comes responsibility and 18 is just fine, though generally we care two hoots for rules and its is always me first.
