In the present scenario of multiple political parties in India where none can claim majority often unstable alliances are formed & that agree to implement " commom Minimal programme" which basically results in Minimal prog & minimal governance.

Isnt it time to change into a Presidential form of Govt like the US ?

Unlike the parliamentary system, it cannot be dissolved before the expiry of its term. Since a president normally serves his full term and is not dependent on the strength of his party in the parliament, the biggest advantage of the presidential system is that it provides stability of government – necessary for economic and social growth. No progress, economic, social, cultural or other can be achieved unless there is internal stability and continuity of policies.
Furthermore, in a presidential system, the executive has the benefit of having direct mandate, it can respond more rapidly and decisively to emerging situations than parliamentary ones.
Wud like to hear ur views on this 😊

17 views but no replies yet 😔 No one interested? 😕 Since Elections R on at least give ur opinion about this -
Since no political party seems to B in a position to have an absolute majority its clear that it wud B an alliance of convenience to form the govt. How stable wud this govt B? How much can U expect from such a govt that is busy all the time in trying to maintain its majority by pleasing other minor parties or independents who will now call the shots. Can we expect any progress or any imp decision to B taken or implemented by such a fragmented govt that is at the mercy of its alliance partners?

Its true that the govt is not able to implement any major policy due to lack of clear majority. A stable govt is very essential when tough decisions have to be made while the threat of terrorism looms large. Most of the time & energy of the govt is taken up in trying to keep its seat secure

I think a presidential system of government is actually a pretty good idea. If India's government becomes even 50% as stable as US's, we could see some major changes which India badly needs now.

Since democracy is inherently flawed and useless, I have developed my own RTH form of Democracy. Its a very large and complex system that might be too elaborate for discussion. However, the most important and salient feature is that all disputes, disagreements and legal lockdowns are referred to one absolute authority, namely me.

I think in india its difficult for presidential system cos presidential system is a two party system in view of the fact that under the presidential set up the locus of political power lies in the office of the president. With a multi party system, he would have "enormous" difficulty passing administration bills because he has no political control of the members of the legislative department (having so many political parties with diverse party agenda).
