After the success of Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka which ran for 1000 episodes, the trio of Vipul Shah, Shobhana Desai and Sony Television are back with their next — Thodi Khushi Thoda Ghum. The show premieres on April 24 and will be aired from Monday to Thursday.

"I have wanted to get into television for a long time now. But due to my film commitments, it was difficult to balance both. I have finally decided to do this one show," says Shah

The serial revolves around a Gujarati joint family. "It's an upgraded version of Ek Mahal Ho Sapano Ka," says Shah. "There is very little in terms of newness in television as most of the plots have been dealt with. Hence, I have brought in new writers like Praveen Solanki, Harin Thacker and Sanjay V Shah who will put their theatre experience to the script. If needed, I will sit on the edits but I think I have a very competent team to handle that. I have limited responsibility as I can't take up more than that, but I will be definitely involved more than I was in our last show Mamta."

Speaking about the tie-up with Desai and Sony, Shah says, "I have known Shobhana since my theatre days and I have done all my television shows with her company. I have enjoyed working with Sony; they are very open to take certain risks."

The show stars actors like Arvind Rathore, Kalpana Diwan, Jhankana Desai, Pranoti Pradhan, Harish Patel, Sejal Shah, Ali Raza and Amit Jain and Deepa Parab.
