Today I came across one of Anirudh Pathak's tweet which says
Historical fiction is not history.
You're blending real events and actual personages with characters of your own creation.

By George R.R. Martin

So I guess Anirudh Pathak's Salim Anarkali is his own creation, it has nothing to do with the history.

Agree.Even I was surprised to see how a kaneez( anarkali) was talking freely and touching or stopping her Maharani . Aisa lag Raha hai Jaise chod diya gaya ho iss character Ko " karo jaisa mann kare". Whereas I am fine with Salim's portrayal.

Salim's character is quite fine, and accurate to ... Infact, it would be shame to call this even history, (no offence though) because it is a legacy. Like rani padmini. No evidence if they existed or not. But it just pricks me how unjustly they change the jest of that personage. Mix real personage and events with fiction all you want, but I think it all goes downhill if you distort the essense of that very breathing character. There's a saying, 'respect the dead.' .perhaps they forget it in excitement. Period.
