Sara enjoys her avatar as a host - An article

Better known as Sadhana of Bidaai, Sara Khan is not new to anchoring. In fact, she started her career as television host for Bhopal Doordarshan before she auditioned for Bidaai two years ago. "I was in class 10 when I hosted my first show," recalls this petite actress.
Bidaai had kept her so busy in the past two years that Sara says there was hardly any time to anchor a show. "I hosted a few award functions and festival specials. But since Bidaai was my debut show and I was one of the main leads, it was a huge commitment. I couldn't think of anything else," she adds.
So how is she managing to do one now? "I liked the concept of Dance Premiere League a lot. It's a zonal competition played like a cricket tournament, a format never seen before," she reasons.
The channel is another reason for doing the show, she says. "I had done a few episodes of Comedy Circus for Sony besides a celebrity episode of 10 Ka Dum. They are good people to work with," she adds.
Also, working for Bidaai is not as hectic as it used to be earlier. "The story and tracks are well settled. Besides, it's going to be a two-day weekly break for me from fiction. So it will be exciting and fun, watching the competition and hosting it as well," she explains.
Sara says she is following in the footsteps of the senior actors, some of who are popular television hosts. "Today many actors are hosting shows. Since I have the talent, I better keep it alive by doing an occasional hosting job."
Talking about Bidaai, Sara reveals that her character Sadhana is trying to help her husband Alek get over his mental illness. "He should be fine and there will be happy moment for her soon," she says. But hasn't the show run its course and isn't the central issue of a fair girl getting favoured treatment over her dusky cousin been done with? "A long running show needs spice and hence the issue will be brought back again. I don't think the story is over yet. It is still the number one show and it has just got a one year extension. So there will be more twists and turns," she says.
