Sorry, I had to make a comment... I can see your point, but you will be surprised how so many poor folks in India have cell phones with internet connection! They use the prepaid mechanism to use their phones, and in my place they even make fun of it by saying that even beggars have cell phones these days and so owning a cellphone is not a big deal...

Agree with you. I guess I saw him in last year's auditions too. The way they showed his family, i felt he was pretty busy in earning for his family. I can understand poor guys affording cellphone and using it actively, but i thought being active in facebook or twiiter would require some basic educational ground or knowledge of english, which I felt he may not have. I may be wrong though.

I know, seriously tell me about it. I was kind of agreeing with you Moderator, but a part of me held me back. I was going to say the same thing Akanna did, but then I was like I better check for some replies.

Yes, almost everyone has a cellphone and laptop these days. I hate to burst your bubbled, Mod, but my mom's native that has hours of load-shedding going on, has people who own iPhone and what not. You won't blv, but I have been brought up in the Middle East with tonnes of facilities and a quality life, and I could never afford a freaking iPhone. These guys do.. So I won't be yet again surprised if they actually have an account. 😊

No yaar. Trust me, people in India have quite a few good facilities now. Things have changed. But I appreciate your point where you like him for being the bread winner in the family.

THUMBS UP! 😉

Yes, the background of people are fooling these days.. And for sms, they only need to know some basic English words, and familiar with the English letters.. The sms format doesnt use proper spelling, and they mainly write Hindi words and make them sound right using English letters.. I found this out after DID2, I realized these people are advanced in these matters than the rest... They learn from their peers about the importance of networking on FB, Orkut, etc...

Yes, cellphones dont have to deal with power-outage problems, plus it has service almost anywhere when compared to landlines and modems.. In India, most people are street smart, so they quickly learn and follow the most popular trends in technology.. Plus these gadgets are more affordable in India, since they are manufactured in India itself for the Indian consumers, whereas it comes from Europe manufacturing plants to US, Middle East, etc., thus making them more expensive due to higher labour costs and transportation-tax costs...
