The movie will have music by Amit Trivedi, who earlier gave music in Dev D(2008) .While Vidya Balan plays a character close to Jessica's elder sister, Sabrina Lall, Rani is set to play a reporter. .
The political thriller, set in New Delhi was believed to be based on the controversial Jessica Lal murder case, however later film's director clarified that the title and the script are actually inspired by a headline that The Times Of India carried in 2006, when the accused in the infamous murder case were acquitted by the lower courts, leading to nationwide protests, reopening of the case and subsequent sentencing of the accused, and not the case per se.

I was also surprised specially i was expecting someone who is a model in Jessica lals character.
But if you go through wikipedia there it says that she is playing the role of Jessica Lal. Please check below. Shakti is NOT playing the role of Jessica in Rani and Vidya's film. It is a rumor spreading. Once I heard this news I asked Shakti right away as I too was so happy that she was going to be playing a role opposite Rani and Vidya. But she denied all rumors. When I approached her she didn't even know what I was talking about!
