Hi Guys!
this is my first post here, altho' ive been a regular reader so i apologise in advance if anyone is offended by my comments.
is it just me, or is everyone else tired of all the aerial acrobatic acts? like, i love contemporary and all these cool arial stunts and all, but its a bit of an overdose! frankly, from last weeks performances, i loved kruti and darmesh. they danced. im not saying the others did not, but see, amrita, shakti, amar, punit - their acts were all similar to me. even jack...since the auditions, ive seen him do the same thing. i would have really preferred parvez in jacks place. i like binny too, but alot of time was wasted putting on the matka-thingy. i love shakti, but she should do something else now (looking forward to her indian dance this week). terence n remo and even geeta (and i say this because in the vivek oberoi episode, they showed a pic of geeta in a different get up, so im presuming she knows her international dance forms) know all these ballroom dancing/international dance forms, so why dont they make the contestants do them? im waiting to see a waltz, foxtrot, tango, pasodoble, afro-jazz, samba, flamenco (alisha in season 1 did this - astounding!!)
and from the indian acts, i would love to see kathak and odissi, even a garba would be nice! for a solo a mujra/hiphop jugalbandi would also be awesome!
the contestants this time are awesome, but they are not being pushed. as far as geeta is concerned, ive noticed how almost everyone bashes her :) and to an extent i agree - but atleast she tries to bring different dance forms (that she succeeds not, is a different matter). i wish terence and remo, especially the latter would bring us something different.

i have to completely disagree with you
i think that the judges have been showing a vast variety of dance forms so far trying new things all the time
and i dont think they over do it with thier acrobatic dances and i love to watch them they always keep u on edge to see wat they can do and wats going to happen nextt
and i find tht this season the masters have been experimenting and trying new forms more than last season

thank you for your reply 😊
i forgot to add in my post that everyone is welcome to opine - it would make this discussion more lively 😊
i do enjoy it when the masters choreograph acrobatic/aerial acts, im just saying that in this season, its alot more. back to back episodes of the same/similar style is getting a tad boring.
i so wish they did more ballroom dancing...like so far geeta/terence have attempted jazz, salsa and chachacha...why dont they go a step further? (if ive missed out on any, please add that too) last season, even remo presented us with some awesome ballroom dancing, courtesy salman. i feel that 'feet on the floor' dancing would be a welcome change and would also give us a chance to learn...i know for sure that my friends and i cannot copy those dance moves from the acrobatic acts.

I agree with you. Enough with the aerobatic dances, and contemporary and hip hop. It's high time we saw more variety from each of the contestants and each of the mentors. it would be cool if they did a theme every week where each of the contestant had to do classical, another week where each one had to do contemporary, and so on. I think that would be the fairest way to go. This way every contestant would have to step out of their comfort zone on a weekly basis.

I agree one point here that Geeta does do more experiment then the Remo and Terrence..This year her choreography is much improved..

would love to see more dance forms on DID stage.. all remaining 11 contestants are talented dancers would do any dance form given good training..

But question is will they get votes? it is like taking risk.. when Tashu performed classical dance audience in the studio hardly clapped, Geeta had to request for more claps.. Remo requested for more votes after Kruthi's performance.. Dharmesh got eliminated after his kerala folk act (eventhough it was geeta's fault), that's why may be mentors are afraid to try new things..

this is what I think.

i do agree with you. but if they sorted out a format where every week the contestants had to perform on the theme given to them, i guess the audience would be forced to vote on those performances.
on another note, Nikitasha is an AWESOME dancer, would love to see a ballet performance or tango by her...for the tango, she would look awesome with punit (or if terence had to choreograph, she would look awesomest with amar). i would also looooveee to see a full on classical number by shakti - her expressions in the aerial act last week (the naach song) were awesome! she would look fab doing a kathak performance :)

@desilawyer-- this thing came to my mind last week.. the masters should go easy and save contemporary and aeriel for sometime- its becoming monotonous. there are so many dance forms which also needs to be highlighted in a show like DID.
