Wow great analysis by Jackcole! I agreed with pretty much everything you said! Do you work for Terrence? J/K, but the way you wrote with so much knowledge reminded me of the way our dear Terrence gives comments. Terrence rocks!!! Good post.

That is bcos Shashank was not performing as a male dancer but a female ballet dancer. Yes male ballet dancers are not supposed to do pointe work but they are also not supposed wear pointe shoes... Shashank was wearing so he had to do the pointe work. Also though men don't do pointe toes, they are trained in to do so once a while which helps train the leg muscles and the arch of your foot. So I think Terence does know what he says.

Shashanks pointe work was pathetic no doubt. Having said that, its not his fault as he is not trained to do proper pointe work. Boys do pointe work not formally but by choice. Formal classical ballet training doesn't enforce men to do pointe work. Since Shashank was playing a role of a women he did dance on pointe. Terence knows what he is saying most of the time. However he is not infallible. This time he was incorrect and thats okay. I am Terence's biggest fan. Love you Terence.

i agree wid u abt shakti tho(can't agree on ne other stuff as i have no knowledge whatsoever)...shes probably the best among girls atleast in wat she does...did she do contemporary again 2day

She tried urdan. It was not completly urban actually. Contemporary sections were also there in the performance. Actually its more of commercial contemporary. You can also call it Modern dance form.. Pure contemporary has never been shown on DID yet. Indian audience may not enjoy pure contemporary because it doesn't have the masala.😛

if you want to see pure contemporary then type Martha Graham on you tube and watch her videos. She is the contemporary legend, Mother of Contemporary dance.
