| He earned the tag of a 'disco dancer' decades back and has retained it till date. After wooing the Indian cine audience with his moves, Mithun
Ask him what made him say yes to being a judge on the small screen and he says, "Television helps one come closer to the audience and be a part of their families. Also, it gives me a chance to take myself to a completely different level of entertainment." But, sitting on the chair of a judge is not a mean task. "Anyone who is judging young talent should be discerning enough to separate wheat from chaff," says he. And is there enough young talent on reality shows ? "All the kids have loads of talent, willpower to come up trumps and absolute junoon to prove themselves," says Mithun. And while we are talking of young talent, from the current crop of B'wood actresses, whom would he choose as his dance partner? "Priyanka and Aishwarya, no doubt. And from my co-stars, it has to be either Sridevi or Madhuri," says Mithun. So, what's his favourite dance form? "It has to be salsa, as it is the most sensuous form of dancing," says he. Mithun gets philosophical when he talks about his son Mimoh's flop debut in Bollywood. He says, "In this industry, one has to prove oneself at every stage. Those born in star families have to prove themselves too. In fact, being born with a silver spoon can make things difficult at times. One may start by thinking that recognition too will come easily to them." Mithun will soon be seen in the forthcoming flick, Veer. "The role is interesting and also something that I am doing for the first time. I play Salman's father, who is the leader of a tribe. My role demanded me to get this warrior-like physique and hence I had to take care of my health and stick to a diet regime. Apart from Veer, I will also be seen in Lucky with Imraan Khan," signs off the actor. |
